R A. If the BITE test gives the message TEST FAILED:
R - push the line key adjacent to the TEST FAILED message.
R (1) If the maintenance message GCU1 (1XU1) comes into view:
R - replace the GCU-1 (1XU1) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-22-34-000-001) and (Ref.
R AMM TASK 24-22-34-400-001).
R B. If the BITE test gives the message TEST PASSED:
R - do a check of the contact of the ENG/APU FIRE panel (1WD) for a correct
R operation between pin A/b and pin A/c (Ref. ASM 24-22/02).
R (1) If the contact does not operate correctly:
R - replace the ENG/APU FIRE PNL (1WD) (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-12-000-001)
R and (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-12-400-001).
R (2) If the contact operates correctly:
R - do a check of the wiring for an open circuit or a short to ground
R between pin A/c of the ENG/APU FIRE panel and pin A/3J of the GCU 1
R (Ref. ASM 24-22/02).
R (a) If the wiring is not correct:
R - repair or replace as necessary.
R (b) If the wiring is correct:
R - replace the ENG/APU FIRE PNL (1WD) (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-12-000-
R 001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-12-400-001).
R C. Do the test given in para. 3.

R A. Test
R - do the BITE test of the GAPCU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-740-002).
R NOTE : It is not necessary to do the trouble shooting for the CFDS
____ R message ENG2 FIRE PB SW (1WD)/ GCU2 (1XU2) if the flight or R maintenance log books show that the flight crew or the maintenance R personnel pushed the ENG 2 FIRE pushbutton switch on the ENG/APU R FIRE panel after an engine-fire condition or to do a test of the R engine fire loop. R To remove this CFDS message at the start of the subsequent flight, R release and push the ELEC/GEN 2 pushbutton switch (2XU2) before R the subsequent engine start sequence. R If the flight or maintenance crew did not push the ENG 2 FIRE R pushbutton switch, the trip was accidental and you must do the R trouble shooting procedure that follows:
R (1) If the BITE test gives the message TEST FAILED: R - do the trouble shooting given in Para 4.A.
R (2) If the BITE test gives the message TEST PASSED: R - do the trouble shooting given in Para 4.B.
