_______ R EXAMINE EACH CONNECTOR TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO OIL IN IT. R IF YOU FIND OIL, CLEAN THE CONNECTOR AND CONNECT IT AGAIN. R IF THE FAILURE CONTINUES, DO THE TROUBLE SHOOTING PROCEDURE AS R GIVEN BELOW.

R A. If the fault symptom is identified by the CFDS message IDG1 (E1-4000XU)/
R GCU1 (1XU1) and the upper ECAM-DU warning GEN 1 FAULT:
R (1) Do the trouble shooting for all ECU messages that come into view with
R the CFDS message IDG1 (E1-4000XU)/ GCU1 (1XU1).
R (a) If there are no ECU messages, or if the fault continues after the
R trouble shooting for ECU messages:
R - replace the engine 1 IDG (4000XU) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-R 040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-040).
R (b) If the fault continues:
R - replace the GCU-1 (1XU1) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-22-34-000-001) and
R (Ref. AMM TASK 24-22-34-400-001).
R (2) Do the BITE test of the GAPCU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-740-002).
R (a) If the BITE test gives the message TEST FAILED:
R - push the line key adjacent to the TEST FAILED message.
R 1_ If the maintenance message GCU1 (1XU1) comes into view:
R - replace the GCU-1 (1XU1) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-22-34-000-001)
R and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-22-34-400-001).
R (b) If the BITE test gives the message TEST PASSED:
R - do an electrical resistance test of the IDG 1 servo-valve
R speed-control between pin B/1 and pin B/2 (75 ohms plus or
R minus 6 ohms) (Ref. ASM 24-21/01).
R 1_ If the resistance values are out of the specified limits:
R - replace the engine 1 IDG (4000XU) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-R 000-040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-040).
R 2_ If the resistance values are in the specified limits:
R - do a check of the wiring of the servo-valve speed control
R (Ref. ASM 24-21/01) for a short to ground, a short circuit,
R an open circuit or a high resistance condition between:
R . pin B/1 of the IDG 1 and pin B/11J of the GCU 1
R . pin B/2 of the IDG 1 and pin B/11H of the GCU 1.
R a_ If the wiring is not correct:
R - repair or replace as necessary.
R b_ If the wiring is correct:
R - replace the engine 1 IDG (4000XU) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-R 51-000-040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-040).
