B. Installation of the Closing Plates

(1)
Install the closing plate (3) as follows:
(a)
Put the screws (4) through their related closing plate (3).
(b)
Put the spacers (2) on their related screws (4).
(c)
Put the closing plate (3) in position.
(d)
Hand tighten the screws (4) to the nut strips (1).
(e)
Use the pneumatic wrench and slowly retract the slats to the datum zero position.
(f)
Adjust the closing plate (3) with the screws (4) so that the DIM 'Z' is between 0.25 mm (0.01 in.) and 0.5 mm (0.02 in.).
(2)
Apply the paint as follows: WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL

(a)
Use the pneumatic wrench and extend the slats to the fully extended position.
(b)
Apply a layer of PAINTS FOR DETAIL (INTERNAL AND EXTERN AL) (Material No. 07-003) that agrees with the external colour scheme to the slat track closing plate (3). Where the closing plate (3) makes an overlap with the leading edge surface, the structure paint must make an overlap of 18 mm
(0.71 in.).
(c) Let the paint dry, (approximately 24hrs at room temperature). NOTE : Let the structure paint dry before you retract the slats.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Use the pneumatic wrench and socket and put the slats in the '0' deg. position.
(2)
Remove the pneumatic wrench, or the wrench and socket, and the ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) from the bevel gearbox.

D. Close Access
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Install the applicable torque shaft (Ref. TASK 27-84-45-400-005):

for the left wing, install (FIN 6010CM)
