R (7) Install the locking plates (13) and (38) and the nuts (14) and (40).
R (8) TORQUE the nuts (19) and (42) to between 4.2 and 4.8 m.daN (30.97 and
R 35.39 lbf.ft).
R (9) Safety the nuts (19) and (42) with the new cotter pins (5).
R (10) Remove the LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT,
R installed outboard of the removed torque shaft FIN 6010CM(6060CM)
R (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-000-003).
R (11) Use the pneumatic wrench and the ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to
R fully extend the slats.
R (12) Install the LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT
R outboard of the removed torque shaft FIN 6010CM(6060CM) (Ref. TASK
R 27-50-00-400-003).
R (13) Apply special materials:
R WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL_______
R MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR.
R OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS.
R PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING.
R DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH.
R DO NOT SMOKE.
R DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS.
R THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT.
R GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
R (a) Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-001) to:
R - the nuts (4), (6), (18), (19), (20), (31), (32) and (42)
R - the bolt heads (11), (12), (15), (16), (17), (37), (39) and
R (41)
R - the locking plates (13) and (38).
R (14) Remove the BLOCK-SLAT GAPPING from the No. 9 slat track.
R (15) Do a check of the slat lower trailing-edge, dimension L:
R (a) Remove the LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT,
R installed outboard of the removed torque shaft FIN 6010CM(6060CM)
R (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-000-003).
R (b) Use the pneumatic wrench and the ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP)
R to fully retract the slats.

(c)
Install the LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT outboard of the removed torque shaft FIN 6010CM(6060CM) (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-400-003).
(d)
Measure the dimension L of the slat lower trailing-edge. The dimension L must be 5 mm (0.1968 in.) +/- 2 mm (0.0787 in.) at all points along the length of the slat. (Ref. Fig. 405/TASK 27-84-63-991-004)
(e)
The slat lower trailing-edge must not be more than 1 mm (0.0393 in.) into-wind or out-of-wind.
NOTE : The dimension L and the into-wind and out-of-wind
____ dimensions are not adjustable. If the dimensions you measure are out of limits, you must tell the design authority at Airbus Industrie.
(16) Install and adjust the closing plates (9) and (35) (Ref. TASK 27-84-69-400-001).

C. Adjustment of the Slat (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 27-84-63-991-001, 402A/TASK 27-84-63-991-002-A, 403/TASK 27-84-63-991-003, 405/TASK 27-84-63-991-004)
(1)
Install the BLOCK-SLAT GAPPING (98D27804020000) at the No. 9 slat track.
(2)
Remove the LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT, installed outboard of the removed torque shaft FIN 6010CM(6060CM) (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-000-003).
(3)
Use the ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) to retract the slats until they are approximately 50.8 mm (2.0000 in.) +/- 6.35 mm (0.2500 in.) from the BLOCK-SLAT GAPPING.
(4)
Use the BAR-TURNING (98D27804011000) to slowly retract the slats until the BLOCK-SLAT GAPPING touches the bottom roller at the No. 9 slat track.
(5)
Install the LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT outboard of the removed torque shaft FIN 6010CM(6060CM) (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-400-003).

(a) Adjust the eccentric bushes (10) and (36) to get dimension J. Refer to the table that follows.
NOTE : Measure dimension J above the applicable slat track.
