C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS ARE
_______ CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1)
Make sure that the access platform is in position below the applicable inboard flap.
(2)
Make sure that the flaps are in the fully extended position (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(3)
Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER (98D27803000000) is on the slat/flap control lever.
(4)
Make sure that the flap track No. 2 movable fairing has been lowered for access (Ref. TASK 57-55-11-010-001).
(5)
Make sure that the pylon aft movable fairing has been removed (Ref. TASK 54-55-00-000-001).
(6)
Make sure that the applicable wing to fuselage access panels are removed:
-
for the left flap, panels 193AB, 193BB
-
for the right flap, panels 194AB, 194BB.
(7)
Make sure that the applicable wing access panels are removed:
(a) For the LH wing:
-
remove 573CB (Ref. TASK 57-51-37-000-002)
-
remove 575AB, 575BB (Ref. TASK 57-51-37-000-004).
(b) For the RH wing:
-
remove 673CB (Ref. TASK 57-51-37-000-002)
-
remove 675AB, 675BB (Ref. TASK 57-51-37-000-004).
(8)
Make sure that the hinge 1A fairings have been removed.
(9)
Make sure that the applicable torque shaft has been disconnected from the right angle gearbox.
(10) Make sure that the ADAPTOR-DRIVE, SLAT (AND FLAP) is installed on the right angle gearbox.

Make sure that the LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT (98D27504030001) is on the applicable torque shaft.
(12)
Make sure that the spoilers 1 and 2 are fully extended and locked.
(13)
Make sure that the COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER is installed on the applicable piston rod of the servo-control.
(14)
Make sure that the flap kink seals have been removed (Ref. TASK 27-54-61-000-002).
(15)
Make sure that the interconnecting strut has been disconnected (Ref. TASK 27-51-44-000-001) and is safetied to the outboard flap with adhesive tape.
(16)
Make sure that the DISTANCE GAUGES (98D27504114000) at the hinge 1A and the track 2 positions are installed.
(17)
If a new inboard flap is to be installed then install the DISTANCE GAUGES as follows: (Ref. Fig. 420/TASK 27-54-61-991-030)
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT THE DISCONNECTED PARTS DO NOT TOUCH AND/OR
_______ CATCH THE ADJACENT STRUCTURE WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE WING.
(a)
Manually push the tab forward and install the DISTANCE GAUGES
(82)
and (88) as follows:
1_ At the hinge 1A position, put the distance gage (88) in
position.
2_ Install the rear pin (89).
3_ Install the forward pin (86) and lock with the knurled screw
(87).
4_ At the track 2 position, put the distance gage (82) in
position.
5_ Install the forward pin (85) and lock the knurled screw (81).
6_ Install the rear pin (83) and lock with the knurled screw
(84).

CAUTION : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING

EDGE:

DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
-
DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
-MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Remove the covers from the flap.
(2)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).
(3)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(5)
At the track 1 and the track 2 positions:
