WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS ARE
_______ CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1)
Make sure that the flaps are in the fully retracted position (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
(2)
Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER (98D27803000000) is on the slat/flap control lever.
(3)
Disconnect the applicable torque shaft from the right angle gearbox (Ref. TASK 27-54-41-000-001).

(4) Make sure that the LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT (98D27504030001) is on the applicable torque shaft.

Put the access platform in position below the applicable inboard flap tab.

Remove the fairings from the tab hinges at the 1A and 1B positions (Ref. TASK 57-55-11-000-005).
(3)
Lower the flap track No. 2 movable fairing (Ref. TASK 57-55-11-010-001).

A. Removal of the Inboard Flap Tab

(1) Install the DISTANCE GAUGES (98D27504114000) on the flap and tab hinges at the hinge 1A and the track 2 positions (Ref. TASK 27-54-61-000-003).

Disconnect the tab at the hinge 1B position:
(a) Disconnect the rear strut (5):
(3)
Disconnect the forward strut (18):
(a)
Remove and discard the cotter pin (15).
(b)
Remove the nut (14) and the washer (13).
(c)
Remove the bolt (10), the washer (11) and disconnect the forward strut (18).
(d)
Remove the sliding bush (12).
(4)
Disconnect the tab at the hinge 1A position: (Ref. Fig. 414/TASK 27-54-61-991-027)
1_ Remove and discard the cotter pin (8).
2_ Remove the nut (9) and the washer (7).
3_ Remove the bolt (1), the washer (2) and disconnect the rear
strut (5).
4_ Remove the sliding bush (6).
(a) Disconnect the tab drive control-rod (45): 1 Remove and discard the cotter pin (46).

2 Remove the nut (47) and the washer (48).
_
3 Remove the bolt (42), the washer (43) and disconnect the tab
_ drive control-rod (45).
4 Remove the sliding bush (44).

(5) Disconnect the forward strut (39):
(a)
Remove and discard the cotter pin (34).
(b)
Remove the nut (35) and the washer (36).
(c)
Remove the bolt (40), the washer (41) and disconnect the forward strut (39).
