FUNCTIONAL TESTING.
If you accidentally set the POWER switch to OFF, you must give the UUT
a warm-up time of 2 hours maximum before you do the functional testing.
(1) Start of Adjustment Mode
(a) Click on the "NEXT" button. You will see the "MODE SELECTION"
box (Figure 114).
(b) Click on the "ADJUSTMENT MODE" button. You will see the "POWER
ON" box (Figure 115).
(c) Click on the "OK" button. You will see the "ADJUSTMENT MODE"
window as shown in Figure 134 after you click on the "OK"
button.
(d) Initially, the boxes given below have no values:
· Frequency
· Input Impedance
· Input Signal Select
· Modulator Status
The tester program gets the values from the UUT through data
communications and shows them one after the other. The
modulator status box shows the status of the related modulator
channel as follows:
· PASS - The modulator channel is in operation.
· FAIL - The modulator channel is in a fault condition.

The background color of the modulator status boxes is gray
because you cannot change their contents.
The background color of the frequency and input impedance boxes
is also gray because you cannot change their contents on this
window.
(e) The values initially shown in the frequency boxes are kept as
the user configuration data.

(2) User Configuration Data
You can put the user configuration data back into the UUT as
follows:
(a) Click on the "USER CONFIG" button.
(b) The frequency boxes show "000" one after the other.
NOTE: The frequencies are initially set to "000" to prevent
duplicate errors (same frequencies for different modulator
channels).
(c) The values in the frequency boxes are changed to the user
configuration values in sequence.
(3) Factory Setting
You can put the factory setting values (151.25 thru 283.25 MHz at
intervals of 12 MHz, and 50 W input impedance for all modulator
channels) into the UUT as follows:
(a) Click on the "FACTORY SETTING" button.
(b) The frequency boxes show "000" one after the other.
(c) The values in the frequency boxes are changed to the factory
setting values in sequence.
(4) Change of Frequency for One Channel
You can change the frequency of a modulator channel as follows:
(a) Click on the "NEW" button of the related modulator channel. You
will see the "NEW DATA" box as shown in Figure 135.

(b) Erase the value with the Backspace or Delete key.
(c) Type a new frequency value:

NOTE: The frequency will not be changed if you typed a value not
in the above range.
(d) Click on the "OK" button.
(e) The "NEW DATA" box goes out of view and the new frequency value
is set on the UUT.
(5) Selection of Video Input for Modulator Channel 1
You can make a selection of one of the two possible video inputs for
modulator channel 1 as follows:
(a) Click on the top "Input Signal Select" box. You will see a
pull-down menu as shown in Figure 136, which gives a selection
of CH1 (video channel 1 input) or TEST (test video input).

(b) Click on the "CH1" or "TEST" of the pull-down menu. You will
hear a click (A5RL1) if the UUT operates correctly.
NOTE: The initial default selection is "CH1". Selection of
"CH1" also occurs at the end of the adjustment mode.
