tolerance is 1 Vp-p ± 1% into a specified load (50 or 75 W) for an RF
video input modulated 87,5% with 100% white video.
Some difference in the tuning frequency is permitted if it is in the
range between 151.25 MHz and 283.25 MHz. If you use a different tuning
frequency, you must use that frequency also on the UUT.
In the procedure, the term "VMU tuner" refers to the RD-AX8308-01 VMU
tuner and to the alternative receiving equipment.
B. Test Setup
Refer to Figure 103 for the setup necessary for the functional testing.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT ALL UNITS ARE DE-ENERGIZED BEFORE YOU MAKE THEIR
CONNECTIONS.
(1) Video Input Connection
(a) Connect a BNC tee adapter T1 to the VIDEO INPUT CH1 connector of
the tester.
(b) Connect the output of the video pattern generator to the BNC tee
adapter T1 with a video cable (VC1).
NOTE: You can use the RD-AM8285-01 impedance converter as shown
in Figure 103. If you use this converter, set its switch
to 50W.
(c) Connect the CH1 input of the oscilloscope to the BNC tee adapter
T1 with a video cable (VC2).
NOTE: It is important to use the same oscilloscope to measure
the video input to the UUT and to measure the video output
from the VMU tuner. This keeps the effect of the
oscilloscope precision to a minimum.

(2) Connection of UUT and PC
(a) Connect the test harness to the J1 connector of the UUT.
(b) Connect the test harness to the J1, J2, and RF1 thru RF4
connectors of the tester.
(c) Connect the tester's RS232C I/F connector (DB25F) to the PC's
COM1 connector (DB9M or DB25M) with an RS-232 null-modem cable.
