(*1)
Satisfactory. The VMU is set for reception of channel 1.
The receiving frequency (FREQ) can be a
different value if you changed it from the
default value (*1).
E0 EEE.EE Unsatisfactory. There were an error or errors in the EEPROM
write/read test.
E1 EEE.EE Unsatisfactory. There is an error in the external channel
selector inputs.
E2 EEE.EE Unsatisfactory. The internal tuner pack is unsatisfactory in
data communication.
If the VMU tuner shows "E0" or "E2", the VMU tuner must be repaired before you
can use it.
If the VMU tuner shows "E1", set the EXT-INT switch to INT. The channel number
and receiving frequency will show on the CH and FREQ displays.

NORMAL MODE
The VMU tuner is in the normal mode if the switches are set as follows:
SWITCH POSITION
ADJUST-NORMAL NORMAL
INT-EXT INT
POWER ON
Push the UP or DOWN switch to change the channel. The channel numbers are 01
thru 16 and shown on the CH display. The FREQ display shows the receiving
frequency in MHz.
ADJUSTMENT MODE
The VMU tuner in the normal mode will go into the adjustment mode if the ADJUSTNORMAL
switch is set to ADJUST. The adjustment procedure is as follows:
1) The CH display flashes when the VMU tuner is put into the adjustment mode.
2) Push the UP or DOWN switch to get the necessary channel number on the CH
display, then push the SET switch to select this channel. The CH display
stops to flash. The FREQ display starts to flash.
3) Push the UP or DOWN switch to get the necessary receiving frequency on the
FREQ display. The possible frequency values that you can set are from 80.25
MHz to 463.25 MHz at intervals of 1 MHz.
The UP and DOWN switches operate as follows:
· One short operation of the switch changes the frequency by 1 MHz.
· Operation of the switch for not less than one second changes the frequency
at intervals of 10 MHz.
4) Push the SET switch to set the receiving frequency when you get the
necessary value on the FREQ display. The FREQ display stops to flash.
5) Push the SET switch to do the procedure (steps 1) thru 4)) again on a
different channel, or set the ADJUST-NORMAL switch to NORMAL to go back to
the normal mode.

1 POWER switch This switch controls the primary AC power of 115 V, 400 Hz
to the impedance converter. The light in the switch comes
on when this switch is set to ON.
2 VIDEO IN
connector,
75 W
A composite video signal source (NTSC or PAL) with an output
impedance of 75 W is connected to this BNC connector.
3 VIDEO OUT
connector,
50 W
The composite video signal applied to the VIDEO IN connector
goes through the internal video amplifier (6 dB voltage
gain) and comes out from this BNC connector. The output
impedance is 50 W.
