C. Video Quality Test
Do as follows:
(1) For part numbers RD-AA5002-23 and RD-AA5002-25, remove the
RD-AM9341-01 harness and connect the VC1 cable to the BNC tee
adapter T1 or, if you use the impedance selector, set its switch to
100W.
(2) Connect the BNC tee adapter T1 to the tester's VIDEO INPUT CH1
connector.
(3) Set the video pattern generator for a color-bar pattern output.
(4) Make sure that the VC2 cable is connected to the BNC tee adapter T1
to measure the UUT's video input level on the oscilloscope.
(5) Make sure that the video signal amplitude is in a range between 0.95
and 1.05 Vp-p.
(6) Set the VMU tuner for reception of CH1.
(7) Monitor and examine the color-bar pattern on the video monitor.
(8) The result is satisfactory if the video monitor shows the color-bar
pattern clearly and correctly.
(9) Record the channel number if the result is unsatisfactory.
(10) Do steps (2) and (6) thru (9) for CH2 thru CH12. For part numbers
RD-AA5002-23 and RD-AA5002-25, do as follows for the channel(s)
specified:

D. BITE Function Test
(1) For part numbers RD-AA5002-23 and RD-AA5002-25, remove the
RD-AM9341-01 harness and connect the VC1 cable to the BNC tee
adapter T1 or, if you use the impedance selector, set its switch to
50W.
(2) Connect the BNC tee adapter T1 to the tester's VIDEO INPUT CH2
connector.
(3) Make sure that the video pattern generator is set for a color-bar
pattern output.
(4) Connect the VC2 cable to the BNC tee adapter T2 to measure the video
output of the VMU tuner on the oscilloscope.
(5) Set the VMU tuner for reception of CH2. You will see a color-bar
pattern on the video monitor.
(6) Push the F6 key (BITE). You will hear a "click" (sound from the
UUT's A8RL501) and see a white raster on the video monitor. The
term "BITE OFF" for channel 2 on the screen will change to "BITE
ON".
(7) Measure the video output level of the VMU tuner on the oscilloscope.
The result is satisfactory if the video output level is in a range:
0.75 Vp-p thru 0.95 Vp-p.
(8) Push the F6 key (BITE) again. You will hear a "click" (sound from
the UUT's A8RL501) and see the color-bar pattern again on the video
monitor. The term "BITE ON" for channel 2 on the screen will change
to "BITE OFF".

E. Channel 1 Input Selection Test
(1) Connect the BNC tee adapter T1 to the tester's VIDEO INPUT TEST
connector.
(2) Set the video pattern generator for a white-raster output and set
the VMU tuner for reception of CH1.
(3) Push the F7 key (VIDEO). You will hear a "click" (sound from the
UUT's A5RL1) and see a white raster on the video monitor. The term
"NORMAL VIDEO" for channel 1 on the screen will change to "TEST
VIDEO".
(4) Remove the VC2 cable from the BNC tee adapter T2.
(5) Connect the VC2 cable to the BNC tee adapter T1 to measure the
output of the video pattern generator on the oscilloscope.
(6) Adjust the output of the video pattern generator accurately to 1.0
Vp-p in amplitude as measured on the oscilloscope.
(7) Remove the VC2 cable from the BNC tee adapter T1.
(8) Connect the VC2 cable to the BNC tee adapter T2 to measure the video
output of the VMU tuner on the oscilloscope.
(9) Measure the video output level of the VMU tuner on the oscilloscope.
