E. BITE Function Check
You will hear a "click" (sound of the UUT's relay), then see the "BITE
CHECK" window as shown in Figure 127.
NOTE: If you click on the "BACK" button, you can go back to the "VIDEO
QUALITY CHECK" window.

Do as follows:
(1) Remove the VC4 cable from the BNC tee adapter T1.
(2) Connect the VC4 cable to the BNC tee adapter T2 to measure the video
output of the VMU tuner on the oscilloscope.
(3) Set the VMU tuner for reception of CH2. You will see a white raster
on the video monitor.
(4) Measure the video output level of the VMU tuner on the oscilloscope
and put in the result as follows:
VIDEO OUTPUT LEVEL, VO U T CLICK ON:
0.75 Vp-p £ VO U T £ 0.95 Vp-p "PASS"
VO U T < 0.75 Vp-p or VO U T > 0.95 Vp-p "FAIL"
(5) Click on the "NEXT" button.

F. Channel 1 Input Selection Check
You will hear two "clicks" (sound from the UUT's relays), then see the
"CH1 INPUT SELECTION CHECK" window as shown in Figure 128.
NOTE: If you click on the "BACK" button, you can go back to the "BITE
FUNCTION CHECK" window.

Do as follows:
(1) Make sure that the impedance selector switch is set to 50W.
(2) Connect the BNC tee adapter T1 to the tester's VIDEO INPUT TEST
connector.
(3) Set the video pattern generator for a white-raster output.
(4) Remove the VC4 cable from the BNC tee adapter T2.
(5) Connect the VC4 cable to the BNC tee adapter T1 to measure the
output of the video pattern generator on the oscilloscope.
(6) Adjust the output of the video pattern generator accurately to 1.0
Vp-p in amplitude as measured on the oscilloscope.
(7) Remove the VC4 cable from the BNC tee adapter T1.
(8) Connect the VC4 cable to the BNC tee adapter T2 to measure the video
output of the VMU tuner on the oscilloscope.

(9) Set the VMU tuner for reception of CH1. You will see a white raster
on the video monitor.
(10) Measure the video output level of the VMU tuner on the oscilloscope
and put in the result as follows:
VIDEO OUTPUT LEVEL, VO U T CLICK ON:
0.9 Vp-p £ VO U T £ 1.1 Vp-p "PASS"
VO U T < 0.9 Vp-p or VO U T > 1.1 Vp-p "FAIL"
(11) Click on the "NEXT" button. You will see the "USER CONFIGURATION"
window as shown in Figure 129. This window is the same as the one
shown in Figure 118 unless you stopped the tester program during the
testing.

(12) If you see the "ERROR" box as shown in Figure 130, go to step (13).
If you do not see the "ERROR" box, go to "G. End of Functional
Testing".

(13) The "ERROR" box (Figure 130) will show if there occurs a temporary
interruption of data communication during the restoration of the
user configuration. The "COMMUNICATION ERROR" box (Figure 17) will
show if the data communication is fully stopped.
If you see the "ERROR" box as shown in Figure 130, do as follows:
(a) Click on the "RETRY" box to let the tester program put the user
configuration back on the UUT.
(b) If you see the "ERROR" box again, click on the "RETRY" button
again.
(c) If the "ERROR" box shows again after you clicked on the "RETRY"
button five times, click on the "ABORT" button. This sets the
