F. Power Card Assembly (A4)
(1) The inputs to the A4 card come from two power transformer
assemblies, T1 and T2. The primary of T1 and T2 connects to the A6
card. T1 gives one secondary output (7.5 V AC). T2 gives two
secondary outputs (8 V x 2 and 27 V AC).
(2) The T1 secondary output connects to A4D401, A4D402, A4D403, and
A4D404 in a bridge connection to give unregulated DC power of +8 V.
(3) The 27VAC output of T2 connects to A4D406 to give unregulated DC
power of +32 V.
(4) The unregulated +32V output also goes through A4IC401 (voltage
regulator) and becomes a regulated DC output of +24 V.
(5) The 8VACx2 output of T2 connects to A4D405 to give unregulated DC
power of -9 V.
(6) Fuses (A4F401 thru A4F403) are installed on the A4 card for
protection of T1 and T2 secondaries.

G. Mother Card Assembly (A5)
(1) The A5 card gives the necessary interconnections for the A1, A2, A3
and A4 cards. The modulator channel numbers of the A2 cards come
from their positions on the A5 card. Refer to Figure 7.

(2) A5CB1 thru A5CB4 combine the RF video outputs from the A2 cards
(modulator channels 1 thru 12) as follows:
COMBINER INPUTS OUTPUT
A5CB1 RF video outputs from modulator channels 1 thru 3 RFCH1-3
A5CB2 RF video outputs from modulator channels 4 thru 6 RFCH4-6
A5CB3 RF video outputs from modulator channels 7 thru 9 RFCH7-9
A5CB4 RF video outputs from modulator channels 10 thru 12 RFCH10-12
The combined RF video outputs go to the A3 card.
(3) The A1 card controls A5RL1 (electromagnetic relay) to make selection
of the video input (video channel 1 or test video) to modulator
channel 1.

H. Fuse Card Assembly (A6)
(1) The input to the A6 card is AC power of 115 V, 400 Hz from the
bottom plug of the J1 connector. The A6 card also gives the chassis
ground connection for the J1 connector.
(2) The A6 card applies the AC power to T1 through A6F1 and to T2
through A6F2. A6F1 and A6F2 are for protection of the T1 and T2
primaries.
I. Connector Card Assembly (A7)
(1) The top plug of the J1 connector directly connects to the A7 card.
(2) The signal lines from the J1 connector top plug connect to the A5
card through a printed flex cable.

J. Video Signal Generator Card Assembly (A8), First Type
(1) A8IC501 (hex inverter) and A8X501 makes a crystal oscillator to give
a 5.04 MHz clock signal. IC502 (dual D-type flip-flop) frequencydivides
this clock signal to apply a 2.52-MHz clock to IC503 (TV
pattern generator).
(2) A8IC503 (TV pattern generator) gives a number of monochrome video
signals with the timing as follows:
ITEM VALUE
Timing 525 lines EIA.
Line Frequency 15.75 kHz
Field Frequency 60 Hz
(3) A8S501 (rotary switch) gives a selection of one of seven video
patterns as follows:
POSITION VIDEO PATTERN
1 White raster
2 Horizontal lines
3 Cross hatch
4 Dot
5 Greyscale
6 Vertical lines
7 Black raster
Position 2 thru 6 patterns are the video outputs of A8IC503. White
raster is necessary for BITE testing, and A8S501 must always be set
to position 1.
NOTE: A8S501 is subsequently removed and a jumper connection is made
from the switch arm (position 0) to position 1 because the
video pattern selection with A8S501 is not necessary.
(3) A8IC503 pin 4 gives mixed video blanking signal (horizontal and
vertical blanking pulses). This signal is added to the video signal
through A8D501.
(4) A8IC503 pin 3 (MSYNC) gives the mixed sync signal (horizontal and
vertical sync pulses). This signal is added to the mixed video and
blanking signal through A8D502.
