55-00 1) Perform an overall visual inspection of area 300. 300
11-00 2) Check installation and legibility of exterior placards and markings - refer to 11-20-00 1. 300
55-00 3) Check the control surfaces for freedom of rotation - refer to 27-10-00 201, 27-20-00 201 and 27-30-00 201. 300
55-00 4) Check the play of the elevator hinge ball joints - refer to 55-20-01 201. 300
55-20 5) Remove the elevator and inspect for loose rivets, cracks and evidence of corrosion - refer to 55-20-01 201. 300
Lubricate the inside of the balancing boom - refer to 12-21-03 201.
Visually inspect the elevator supports and hinges at frame C9.
Install the elevator - refer to 55-20-01 201.
55-20 6) Visually inspect the elevator hinge bearings. 300 1000 hrs or
S / N 1 - 1864, 1867 - 1869 2 years
Refer to the latest issue of SB 10-101-55.
55-20 7) Check the balancing weight and the boom for security and evidence of corrosion. 300
55-40 8) Remove the rudder. 300
Visually inspect the hinges and check for loose rivets, cracks and evidence of corrosion.
Install the rudder - refer to 55-40-00 201.
55-40 9) Check the balancing weight for attachment, and check for evidence of corrosion ; in case of doubt, remove the vertical stabilizer tip - refer to 55-40-00 201. 300
55-30 10) Visually inspect (do not remove) vertical stabilizer,
structure, attachments at frames C7 and C8, hinge bearings, skins and check for loose rivets, distortion, cracks and evidence of corrosion. 300
30-10 11) Visually inspect the porous leading edges (if installed) on the stabilizers. 300
27-20 12) Visually inspect the adjustable end of the rudder trim tab control (on control surface side). 300
