R
R If a FLSS LRU is unserviceable and causes the fuel to be used in
R the incorrect sequence, the FQIC will issue (at all times
R excluding refuel):
R - inputs to the FWC to show the FUEL-AUTO TRANSFER FAULT warning
R - a ground to the P/BSW-FUEL/CTR TK/MODE SELECT/AUTO (4QL) to
R light the FAULT legend if set to AUTO.
R
R This procedure is based on actual aircraft malfunctions:
R - that did not give any reported WARNINGS or MESSAGES on the PFR
R - where the fuel imbalance was seen by the flight crew before a
R FUEL imbalance advisory was given.
R (1) Do the FLSS BITE Test (Ref. AMM TASK 28-46-00-740-001).
R (2) Examine the FLSS STATUS page for any of the FUEL LEVEL SENSING
R messages that follow:
R - L(R) FULL SENSOR 23QJ1(2)
R - L(R) UNFULL SENSOR 24QJ1(2)
R - L(R) UNFULL SENSOR 25QJ1(2)
R - L(R) UNFULL SENSOR 26QJ1(2)
R - L(R) FULL SENSOR 27QJ1(2)
R - L(R) SURGE SENSOR 28QJ1(2)
R NOTE : If a surge tank sensor becomes wet during normal operation it
____ R will cause the ECAM warning FUEL L(R) WING TK OVERFLOW and the R applicable flight crew instructions to be given.
R - FLSCU1(2) 7(9)QJ.
R (3) If none of the messages given in step (2) are shown, go to the R Operational Test in Para. 3.B.
R (4) If one or more of the messages given in step (2) are shown:
R (a) Go to (Ref. TSM 28-CFDS PB 101) for the applicable Task(s) R number(s).
R (b) Trouble shoot the applicable LRU(s) shown.
R (c) Go to the Operational Test in Para. 3.B.
R B. Operational Test
R (1) Go to the Operational Leak Test of the Air Release Valve Float (Ref. R AMM TASK 28-21-00-710-011).
R NOTE : The engine feed system (internal to the collector cell) has a
____ R suction valve with a controlled leak rate when in the closed R position.

R The suction valve has a number of slots in the valve seat.
R These slots let fuel go (escape from) between the clack valve
R and the valve seat. The fuel flow generated through the slots
R (controlled leak) is to prevent the formation of ice in the
R mouth of the suction valve. This is necessary because a
R proportion of water can be in the fuel.
R The maximum permitted flow of the controlled leak is 210 kg
R (460 lb)/hour.
R (a) If the left side fuel quantity was more than the right side (or
R fuel was discharged from the left side NACA vent):
R - do the AMM TASK with the R PUMP-FUEL No. 1 (22QA).
R NOTE : During this test procedure fuel from the right wing tank
____ R is pressurized by the R PUMP-FUEL No. 1 (22QA). This fuel R pressure is then applied (through the open crossfeed R valve) to the ENG 1 (aircraft left side) LP fuel supply R line to test for a leak.
R (b) If the right side fuel quantity was more than the left side (or
R fuel was discharged from the right side NACA vent):
R - do the AMM TASK with the L PUMP-FUEL No. 1 (21QA).
R NOTE : During this test procedure fuel from the left wing tank is
____ R pressurized by the L PUMP-FUEL No. 1 (21QA). This fuel R pressure is then applied (through the open crossfeed R valve) to the ENG 2 (aircraft right side) LP fuel supply R line to test for a leak.
R (2) If this is the first time this failure occurred and the related
R engine LP fuel supply line operates as specified:
R - more maintenance steps are not necessary.
R (3) If the related engine LP fuel supply line does not operate as
R specified or this is the second/subsequent failure:
R - go to Para. 4.
