_______ FUEL-PUMP. IF YOU CLOSE THE CIRCUIT BREAKER, THERE IS A RISK:
 - OF FIRE OR OF AN EXPLOSION

 - OF DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WIRING AND STRUCTURE.


 (1) Examine the C/B-FUEL/CTR TK/PUMP2 SPLY (30QA).

 201-299, 401-499, Aug 01/05 CES (2) If the C/B-30QA:

 

 (a) Is open (tripped), do Fuel - Center Tank Pumps 1(2), Power Supply

 - C/B-29QA(30QA) Tripped (Ref. TASK 28-21-00-810-829).

 (b) Is closed (set), do the Functional Test of the Center-Tank Fuel Control (Manual Mode) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-00-720-001).


 4. Fault Isolation

 A. Procedure
 (1) If a fuel low pressure indication is shown for the center tank fuel pump No. 2 (38QA):

 - do a fuel transfer, (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-00-710-007) use the center tank fuel pump No. 2 to do the fuel transfer.

 (2) If the fuel starts to transfer go to step (3). If the fuel does not start to transfer:

 (a) Set the CTR TK PUMP 2 P/BSW (34QA) to OFF (release out). This will de-energize the contactor 36QA.

 (b) Open the right main landing gear door for access (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).

 (c) Get access to the center tank fuel pump No. 2, 38QA (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-002).

 (d) Before you do more steps make sure that fuel from a leak or spillage does not contaminate the areas (in zones 148 and 196) that follow:

 - the center tank bottom skin adjacent to the right fuel pump 38QA

 - the hydraulic compartment below the wing box (center tank) and forward side of the rear bulkhead at FR42

 - the rear wall (spar) of the center tank in the right main landing gear bay

 - the rear side of the bulkhead at FR 42 below the center tank.

 

 


 1 If necessary:
_ a Repair all the leaks:

_

 - (Ref. AMM TASK 51-76-12-300-001)

 - (Ref. AMM TASK 51-76-12-300-002).


 b Clean the area of the fuel spillage.
_

 c Clean and dry the fuel pump supply cable and the end
_
 connector 38QA-A.

 (e) Disconnect the supply cable end connector 38QA-A from the fuel pump receptacle.

 (f) If, in step (d) or (e), any damage can be seen in this area, go to step (k) 1_.

 (g) Set the CTR TK PUMP 1 P/BSW (33QA) to ON (push in). This will energize the contactor 36QA and the 115VAC three phases will be supplied to the fuel pump connector 38QA-A.

 (h) Do a test with an (intrinsically safe) multimeter to make sure that each of the 115VAC three phases are available at the connector 38QA-A (Ref. ASM 28-21/03).

 (i) Set the CTR TK PUMP 2 P/BSW (34QA) to OFF (release out). This will de-energize the contactor 36QA.
