 4. Fault Isolation
_______________
 A. If the FUEL - AUTO FEED FAULT ECAM warning/FAULT legend,
 does not operate as specified in the AMM Test:

 (1) Replace the FQIC (3QT) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-34-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-34-400-001).

 (2) Do the test given in Para. 3.A.(2).

 (3) Do a check of (Ref. ASM 28-21/04) and replace if necessary:

 - the P/BSW-CTR TK/MODE SEL/AUTO (48QA).

 (4) Do the test given in Para. 3.A.(2).

 (5) If the fault continues, do a check of (Ref. ASM 28-21/04), the:

 - aircraft wiring (FAULT ground/earth line) between the FQIC (3QT) rack connector AB, pins 8B and 9B, and the P/BSW-CTR TK/MODE SEL/AUTO (48QA), terminal C1

 - switch wiring (FAULT ground/earth line) between the P/BSW-CTR TK/MODE SEL/AUTO (48QA) terminals C3 and 8

 - aircraft wiring (AUTO/MAN line) between the P/BSW-CTR TK/MODE SEL/AUTO (48QA), terminal D2 and the SDAC-1 (1WV1) rack connector AA, pin 13G

 - aircraft wiring (AUTO/MAN line) between the P/BSW-CTR TK/MODE SEL/AUTO (48QA), terminal D2 and the SDAC-2 (1WV2) rack connector AA, pin 13G.

 


 NOTE : The FQIC ARINC output bus lines (1A, 1B, 2A, and 2B) are not
____ checked. A wiring fault in the bus wiring would show as a different failure.
 (6) Repair all the unserviceable wiring and connectors.

 (7) Do the test given in Para. 3.A.(2).

 3. Fault Confirmation

 A. Test
 (1) If necessary, do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
 (a) On the ECAM control panel, push (in) the FUEL P/BSW.

 (b) Make sure that the FUEL page shows on the ECAM lower display unit.
 (2) Make sure that the center tank contains more than 250 kg (560 lb) of fuel. Refuel (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-004) or transfer fuel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001), if necessary.

 (3) Make sure that the CTR TK MODE SEL P/BSW (48QA) white MAN legend is on. If necessary, release (out) the CTR TK MODE SEL P/BSW (48QA) to set the center tank fuel pumps control to manual mode.

 (4) Push (in) the CTR TK PUMP 1 P/BSW (33QA).

 (5) Examine the center-tank left side fuel-pump No. 1 symbol, on the FUEL system page, at the ECAM lower display unit.

 (6) If the symbol shows:

 - green in-line, no more maintenance steps are necessary (normal operation)

 - amber cross-line, do Para. 4.A.
