3. Fault Confirmation

A. Test Do the operational test of the emergency generation system (Ref. AMM TASK 24-24-00-710-001).
(1) If during the test:
on the upper ECAM display unit:
- the ELEC AC ESS BUS FAULT warning comes into view on the lower ECAM display unit:
- the ESS TR voltage is 28VDC
- the line between the EMER GEN and ESS TR boxes comes on green. do the trouble shooting given in Para. 4.B.
(2) If during the test:
on the upper ECAM display unit:
- the ELEC AC ESS BUS FAULT warning comes into view on the lower ECAM display unit:
- the ESS TR voltage is 0VDC
- the EMER GEN voltage and frequency are correct
- the line between the EMER GEN and ESS TR boxes goes off

4. Fault Isolation

A. Table of the circuit breakers used in this procedure:

B. If the test confirms the fault:
- do a check of the status of the circuit breakers (5XE) and (15PC).
(1) If these circuit breakers are closed:
- replace the CNTOR-AC ESS BUS SWITCHING (15XE) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-24-55-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-24-55-400-002).
(a) If the fault continues:
- do a check of the wiring between respectively: . the pins L3 and B/K of the AC ESS BUS SWITCHING contactor (15XE) . the pin K1 of the contactor (15XE) and the pins A/B then B/B of the AC ESS BUS switching contactor (3XC) through the DC ESS BUS supply contactor (4PC) and the relay (17PC) . the pin B/D of the contactor (3XC) and the pin A/A3 of the timer (33XE) . the pin A/D of the contactor (3XC) and the pin A/A3 of the timer (33XE) . the pin K1 of the contactor (15XE) and the pin A3 of the relay (17PC), through the TR1 and TR2 contactors (5PU1) and (5PU2)
R . the pin B/K of the contactor (15XE) and the pin A/C3 of the
R timer (33XE) . the pin B/L of the contactor (15XE) and the ground, through the timer (33XE) (Ref. ASM 24-24/02) and (Ref. ASM 24-35/01).
R - if the wiring is correct:
R . replace the TIMER (33XE).
(2) If the circuit breaker (5XE) is open:
- close it.
(a) If it trips:
- do a check of the wiring for a short to ground between the circuit breaker (5XE) and the pin B/K of the contactor (15XE) (Ref. ASM 24-24/02).
1 If the wiring is not correct:
_ - repair it.
