R A. Test Operational Check of GAPCU via CFDS Removal of the Ground Auxiliary Power Control Unit (GAPCU) (24XG) Installation of the Ground Auxiliary Power Control Unit (GAPCU) (24XG)
R (1) Read the Class 3 Faults of the GAPCU (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-740-R 002).
R 4. Fault Isolation

R A. If the Class 3 Faults gives the maintenance message CFDIU(1TW)/GAPCU
R (24XG):
R (1) Do the trouble shooting for chapter 31 or CFDIU messages that come
R into view with this message.
R (2) If there are no chapter 31 or CFDIU messages or if the fault
R continues after the trouble shooting :
R - do a check of the wiring of the ARINC 429 bus (Ref. ASM 24-41/01)
R for an open circuit, a short circuit, a short to ground or a short
R to shield between:
R . pin A/7E of the GAPCU and pin B/11E of the CFDIU (1TW)
R . pin A/8E of the GAPCU and pin B/11D of the CFDIU
R . pins A/7E and A/9E of the GAPCU
R . pins A/8E and A/9E of the GAPCU.
R (a) If the wiring is not correct:
R - repair or replace as necessary.

R (b) If the wiring is correct:
R - replace the GAPCU (24XG) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-34-000-001) and
R (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-34-400-001).
R B. When you replace a component or repair the wiring:
R - do the subsequent flight before you do the check of the Class 3 Faults
R of the GAPCU from the CFDS to make sure that the system operates
R correctly.
R If the test continues to give the fault message, continue the trouble
R shooting procedure.

R (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits from the external power
R (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
R B. Test
R (1) If on the POWER CENTER-AC/DC EMERGENCY panel 106VU, the AVAIL legend
R of the ELEC/EXT PWR pushbutton switch (10XG) is on and the EXT
R PWR/AVAIL caution light (9XG) is on:
R - do the trouble shooting given in the Para. 4.A.
