A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the panel 400VU:
-Make sure that the landing-gear normal control-lever is in the DOWN position.

(2) On the panel 110VU:
-Make sure that the free-fall control handle is in the usual position.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the main doors of the nose gear (Ref. TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(2) Put the access platform in position.

C. Safety Precautions
R (1) Make sure that the GROUND SAFETY LOCK (D23080000) or PIN-NLG DOWNLOCK R SAFETY (MZ23080000) as an alternative is in position.

Make sure that the SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR (98D32203502000) are in position.
(3)
Put warning notice(s) to tell persons not to operate the landing-gear normal control-lever.
4. Procedure

A. General Procedure
(1)
Examine the lubrication points. Make sure that they are clean and serviceable.
(2)
Examine the protective finish on the nose gear surfaces. NOTE : Repair the protective finish if it is damaged.

(3)
Make sure that all the components are correctly installed and safetied.
(4)
Make sure that:
-The hinge pins and the hinges are correctly installed and serviceable.
-There are no signs of unusual wear.

(5)
Make sure that the safety devices (cotter pins, lockwashers, lockwire) are correctly installed.
(6)
Make sure that all the identification plates are applicable and correctly installed.
(7) Make sure that the bonding strips are in good condition. Subtask 32-21-00-210-059
B. Inspection of the NLG Uplock Assembly
(1)
Examine for shock damage to:
-
the hook of the uplock assembly,
-
the uplock roller on the drag strut.
(2)
Examine the mechanical controls of the uplock assembly. Make sure that they are correctly installed and serviceable.
(3)
Examine the uplock assembly. Make sure that:
-It is correctly installed.
-There is no structural damage. Subtask 32-21-00-210-060
C. Inspection of the NLG Drag Strut and Lockstay Assemblies
(1)
Examine the safety devices. Make sure that they are correctly installed and in good condition.
(2)
Examine the lockstay for signs of corrosion, cracks, distortion and wear.
(3)
Examine the protective finish on the surfaces.
Clean and repair the protective finish if necessary.

D. Inspection of the NLG Downlock Release Actuator
(1)
Make sure that the downlock release actuator is correctly installed and safetied.
