R R R  NOTE : The defective cable can be removed, or can stay with the cable____ ends disconnected from the control handle and by-pass valve. If disconnected, the cable ends must be safetied correctly.
 (1) Remove the defective cable (Ref. TASK 32-12-16-000-001), or disconnect the cable ends as follows: 
R  (a) Disconnect the cable end (2) from the control handle as follows:
 1_ Remove and discard the cotter pin (5).
 2_ Remove the nut (4), the washer (3) and the bolt (1).
 3_  Remove the cable end (2) from the control handle.
R  4_  Safety the cable end (2) in position with a cable-tie.
R  (b) Disconnect the cable end (6) from the by-pass valve as follows: 
R  1_ Remove and discard the cotter pin (8).
 2_ Remove the nut (7), the washer (9), the bush (11) and the bolt (12).
 3_ Remove the cable end (6) from the by-pass valve operating lever (10).

 

R  4_ Safety the cable end (6) in position with a cable-tie.
 (2) Make sure that a GROUND LOCK SLEEVE is installed on the applicable MLG door actuating cylinder (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
 (3) Disconnect the applicable MLG door actuating cylinder from the MLG door (Ref. TASK 32-31-35-000-001). 
R R  (4) Hold the body of the door actuating cylinder to prevent damage caused by small movement of the ram. 
R  (5) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-863-001).
 (6) If the free-fall system was used to open the MLG doors, reset the free-fall system (Ref. TASK 32-33-00-720-001).
 (7) Make sure that the by-pass valve operating lever is in the normal position as follows: 
R R  (a) Put the RIGGING PIN (98DNSA20208040) through the operating lever and the by-pass valve rigging pin holes. 
R R R  (b) If RIGGING PIN installation is not possible (because the operating lever and the by-pass valve rigging pin holes are not aligned), do the steps that follow: 
R R R  1_  Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these)circuit breaker(s): 1GA, 52GA. 
R R  2_  Manually move the operating lever until the lever and theby-pass valve rigging pin holes are aligned. 
R R  3_  Put the RIGGING PIN through the operating lever and theby-pass valve rigging pin holes. 
R R  4_  Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):1GA, 52GA. 
R R  (c) Remove the RIGGING PIN and safety the operating lever in the rigged position with MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010) through the rigging pin holes. 
R  (8) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
 (9) On the panel 110VU, turn the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle clockwise two full turns.

 

 (10) Connect the applicable MLG door actuating cylinder (Ref. TASK 32-31-35-400-001).
 (11) Remove the GROUND LOCK SLEEVE from the MLG door actuating cylinders. 
R  (12) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-863-001).
 (13) Close the MLG doors as follows: 
R R R  (a) Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1GA, 52GA. 
R  (b) On the panel 110VU, turn the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle counterclockwise two full turns at a rate of one full turn every 5 seconds. 
R  (c) Fold the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle into the center console.
 (14) Put the MLG door ground-control handle in the CLOSED position.
 (15) Make sure that the MLG doors are closed and locked correctly.
 WARNING : IF THE MLG DOOR CONTROLS DO NOT AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF_______ THE MLG DOORS, YOU MUST KEEP CLEAR OF THE LANDING GEAR BAY UNTIL: - YOU DEPRESSURIZE THE GREEN HYDRAULIC SYSTEM - YOU INSTALL A GROUND LOCK SLEEVE ON THE ACTUATING CYLINDER OF THE APPLICABLE OPEN DOOR(S). IF THE DOOR IS OPEN AND NOT SAFETIED, THERE IS A RISK THAT IT CAN CLOSE AND CAUSE INJURY. 
R  (16) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
 5. Close-up________

 (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
 (2) Close the applicable access panel(s):
 FOR 2804GM - close 195BB

 

 FOR 2805GM - close 196BB.

R R  B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 2GA, 1701GK, 1702GK.
