A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the flaps and slats are retracted (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-009) (Ref. TASK 27-80-00-866-005).
(2)
Before the installation of the SAFETY ROPE - WING (98D57004022000) make sure that:
(a)
The shackle (12) and the rope (6) are attached to the bracket.
(b)
The bolts (9) and the washers (10) are installed on the bracket (11).
(c)
The snap shackle (5) is attached to the rope (6) and the latching ratchet (4).
(d) The shackle (2) is attached to the anchorage-plate (3).

B. Safety Precautions
(1) Put a warning notice in the cockpit, to tell persons not to operate the flap and slat

(1) Put the ajustable access platform in position at the wing.

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the SAFETY ROPE - WING (98D57004022000) is serviceable.

B. Installation of the Safety Rope
(1)
Put the SAFETY ROPE - WING (98D57004022000) in position along the wing surface so that:
-
The anchor shackle (2) is on the fuselage side.
-
The bracket (11) is on the wing tip side.
(2)
At the wing tip joint, remove and retain the four aircraft screws.
(3)
Remove the bolts (9) and the washers(10) from the bracket (11).
(4)
Install the bracket (11) with the bolts (9) and the washers (10) at the position of the removed aircraft screws.
(5)
Stow the removed aircraft screws on the bracket (11).
(6)
Remove and discard the self adhesive patch from the fuselage.
(7)
Remove and retain the aircraft plastic plug from the fuselage.
(8)
Install the hoisting lug (1) on the fuselage.
(9)
Attach the anchor shackle (2) to the eye of the hoisting lug (1).
(10) Operate the lever of the latching ratchet (4) to adjust the tension of the rope.
NOTE : There is a risk of damage to the aircraft if the rope is loose

or the tension too high.
(11)
Connect the lanyard (8) to the rope (6) and the body harness (7).
(12)
Make sure that:
(a)
The snap shackles on the lanyard (8) are closed.
(b)
When the wing SAFETY ROPE - WING (98D57004022000) is used for long periods, examine the rope tension regularly:
-A loose rope is dangerous.
