(1) Quality of water for aircraft external cleaning
(a) We recommend that you use potable water for aircraft external cleaning.

(b) We recommend that you do not use: - water that contains a high level of chlorine and/or is acidic/alkaline because of the risk of corrosion - treated water from city drainage because of the risk of bacteriological contamination. Refer to your local regulation.
(c) If you decide to use water that it is not potable, we recommend that:
1_ You use water that has these qualities: - PH between 7 and 8, - chloride level less than 100 ppm.
2_ You do a final rinse with potable water.
R R (2) The persons that do the cleaning must put on rubber boots, rubber gloves and waterproof overalls with hood.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the safety devices are installed on the landing gears (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-481-001).

C. Towing of the Aircraft
(1) Tow the aircraft to the working area (Ref. TASK 09-10-00-584-002).

D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Connect the parking ground cable to the aircraft grounding point on the landing gear (Ref. TASK 12-34-24-869-002).
(2) Put the wheel chocks in front of and behind the wheels of the NLG and the MLG.
(3) Energize the electrical network (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
R R (4) On the panel 25VU, operate the CABIN PRESS/DITCHING pushbutton switch 13HL to close the outflow valve 10HL, the skin air-inlet valve 15HQ, the skin air-outlet valve 22HQ.
(5) Make sure that the air conditioning packs are off.
(6) De-energize the electrical network (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Subtask 12-21-11-210-054
E. Visual Inspection
(1)
Make sure that the engines are cold.
(2)
Make sure that all cargo compartment doors, passenger/crew doors, emergency exits, access panels, service panels and sliding windows are closed.
(3)
Make sure that the flaps, the spoilers, the slats and the thrust reversers are retracted.
