This w orksheet is des igned for operators w hose e x isting m aintenance p rogram a lrea d y include s a

GVI o f a ll zones tha t con ta in w iring, a n d that the w iring is included in the Zonal G VI.
The m in imum outcom e o f this an a lysis will a lways be a Zonal G VI o f any zone w here the p resenc e

The Inspection Level D etermination Tab le a llows the Analyst to determine if a Zonal G VI a lone is
adequa te for a ll w iring in the zone, or if the Zonal GVI m us t be augm ented with a Stand-alone G VI
and /or a DET inspection o f some po rtion o f the w iring.
If a Z onal GV I is adequate for a ll w iring in the zone, the analys t m us t identify the inspection a rea a s
the zone itself (B ox 2). In te rval sele c tion w ill be m ade on S heet 4.
If a Z onal GV I is not adequate fo r a ll w iring in the zone, in addition to identify ing the Zonal G V I (B ox
2), the analyst must a lso any identify the specific items /areas in the zone w here a Stand-alone G VI
(Box 3 ) and/or a DET inspection (Bo x 4 ) is jus tified.
Note: W hile it is useful to know the e x isting Zonal G VI interval w hile conducting this an a lysis, it is
not a s sumed that the Z onal GV I in te rval selected during th is analy sis with respec t to w iring w ill be

The tables on this sheet are used to select an Inspection Level based on zone size, density, and potential
effect of fire in the zone. These factors are used to determine if a GVI of all w iring in the zone at the same
interval is adequate, or if some w iring requires a more frequent GVI, or even a DET inspection.
This worksheet is designed for operators whose existing maintenance program does not include a dedicated
Zonal Inspection Program. The m inimum outcome of this analysis w ill always be a GVI of all w iring in any
zone where the presence of combustible materials is possible and/or wiring is located in close proximity to
both primary and backup hydraulic or mechanical flight controls.
