 (d)
Examine the 5th- thru 7th-stage blades for bends on the leading edge (Fig. 611). 1) No bends are permitted on adjacent blades. 2) Bends are not permitted on more than six (6) blades on each

stage. 3) Bends must be smooth and continuous without tears or cracks. 4) No more than one bend is permitted on each blade.

 (e)
Examine the 9th- thru 15th-stage of the HPC for tangential blade locks that are loose or incorrectly installed. 1) The engine cannot stay in operation if there are more than

two loose tangential blade locks on each stage. 2) If there are two or less, repair them during the regularly scheduled time to disassemble the HPC.
CAUTION: USE CAUTION WHEN YOU USE THESE LIMITS TO MAKE A DECISION
_______ ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THE ENGINE. THE BORESCOPE INSPECTION LIMITS ARE A RESULT OF TESTS AND STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS. THE PART LIFE AND THE PERFORMANCE OF THE ENGINE CAN DECREASE QUICKLY WHILE THE DAMAGE OF THE PARTS BECOMES NEAR THE MAXIMUM CONTINUE-IN-SERVICE LIMITS.
 (f)  Examine the HPC 5th- thru 15th-stage blades for nicks and dents. 1) If you find damage that is more than the limits, examine it
to find if the area is a defect or a blend repair.
NOTE: Repaired areas have a 4 to 1 length to depth ratio
____ and have smooth round corners. This is important because a repaired area can possibly be more than the continue-in-service limits that follow. The limits apply only to defects and not to repaired areas.
