 B.  The No. 1 bearing is a thrust bearing for the low pressure compressor (LPC). The No. 1 bearing is a split inner race, angular contact ball bearing mounted aft of the fan rotor in a relatively cool area. Lubrication and cooling oil is supplied under the inner race and introduced to the bearing through the inner race split.
 C.  The No. 1.5 bearing is a standard non-preloaded cylindrical roller bearing which radially supports the low compressor drive turbine shaft coupling. The No. 1.5 bearing is mounted at the forward end of the intermediate case. A single jet directed at the front of the seal plate provides lubrication for the bearing and the front seal. An axial scoop provides lubrication for the rear seal plate.
