Remove the supplemental control unit (SCU) (AMM 73-21-15/401).

Remove the 1st-stage fan blades (AMM 72-31-02/401).

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE WIRE HARNESS DOES NOT TWIST OR BADLY BEND DURING
_______ THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE WIRE HARNESS.

Remove the fasteners that attach the wire bundle clamps to the brackets at Flanges A1, B, and B1 on the right side of the engine as follows (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the bolt (1) and nut (2) that attach the EEC wire bundle clamps to the split bracket (46) at the 2:30 o'clock position.
(b)
Remove the bolt (1) and nut (2) that attach the wire bundle
clamp to the bracket (39) at the 2:30 o'clock position.
(c)
ENGINES POST-PW-SB 73-101; Remove the two bolts (1) that attach the wire bundle clamps to the bracket (47) at the 2:15 o'clock position.
(d)
Remove the screw (4), washer (5), and nut (6) that attach the wire bundle clamp to the bracket (27) at the 2:00 o'clock position.
(e)
Remove the screw (4), washer (5), and nuts (6) that attach the wire bundle clamps and the three ground wires to the split bracket (37) at the 1:45 o'clock position.
(f)
Remove the screw (4), washer (5), and nut (6) that attach the wire bundle clamps to the bracket (38) at the 1:45 o'clock position.
(g)
ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 72-332;
Do the steps that follow:
1) Remove the screws (4), washers (5), and nuts (6) that
attach the wire bundle clamps to the lower holes in the split bracket (10) at the 1:30 o'clock position.
2) Remove the bolt (1) and nut (2) that attaches the wire bundle clamps to the upper hole in the split bracket (10) at the 1:30 o'clock position.
