conditions 4) All other data that you think is important.
(b)
Do all of the hot section repairs that are necessary to make the engine serviceable.
NOTE: The PW4000 Engine Manual has the specifications for what
____
is serviceable.
1) Remove and disassemble the high pressure turbine rotors to do an analysis of the metal of the 1st- and 2nd-stage turbine blades.
2) Do all other inspections that you think are necessary to make all the parts serviceable.
(c)
You can disassemble the Diffuser and Combustor Group and the Low Pressure Turbine Assembly, but this is not necessary unless you find problems.
(d)
Do visual and borescope inspections in these areas and in the high and low pressure compressor groups.
NOTE: This will make sure that there are no problems in the
____
engine.

No. 5 - Engine Overspeed Inspection
___________________________________
TASK 72-00-00-206-071-N00
5. Engine Overspeed Inspection (Fig. 604)
___________________________
A. General
(1) This task gives you the steps to do after the speed of the low pressure rotor (N1) or the high pressure rotor (N2) goes above its redline.
NOTE: When the speed of a rotor is above its redline, this
____
condition is called overspeed.

Procedure

(1)
Find the speed and the length of time that N1 or N2 operated at above its redline:
(a)
Press the ENG EXCD switch on the EICAS maintenance panel (AMM 45-10-00/201).
(b)
Look at the ENG EXCD page to find the maximum speed of N1 and N2 and the length of time each rotor was above its redline.
NOTE: The EICAS does not make an overspeed record for
____ the speed of N1 or N2 unless the speed of the rotor is more than 1.0% above its redline.
No action is necessary for a N1 or N2 speed between its redline and redline transient that lasts for less than 5 seconds.
(c) If the ENG EXCD page shows that the speed of N1 or N2 did not go above its redline by more than 1.0% (112.5% for N1, 106.6% for N2), do the step that follows: 1) To calculate the correct length of time the speed of the
rotor was above its redline, add 5 seconds to the time shown on the ENG EXCD page.
