A. Open, safety and tag the circuit breakers of all electrical components and systems in the work area.

B. Get Access
(1)
Get access to the area of the leakage.
(2)
Remove components from the area you will clean to prevent contamination from water and/or cleaning agents.
NOTE : Make sure that all electrical outlets are covered to protect

them from water.
4. Procedure

Subtask 51-78-00-110-050
A. Cleaning Procedure
R R CAUTION : DO NOT USE A METAL SCRAPER TO REMOVE THE UNWANTED MATERIAL. A_______ METAL SCRAPER CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE OF THE COMPONENT.
R R (1) Remove the loose materials with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC, a VACUUM EQUIPMENT 0 TO 0.4 BAR (6 PSI), or a BRUSH - NON METALLIC.
(2) Flush the area with clean water.
WARNING : OBEY THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU USE THE_______ SPECIAL MATERIAL. THIS MATERIAL IS DANGEROUS.
R R (3) Mix water and 10 % of the bicarbonate of soda or the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-001) to make a cleaning solution.
R R (4) Clean the area with the cleaning solution and a lint-free cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003).
(5) Flush the area with clean water.
(6) Prepare one of the cleaning solutions that follow: - mix water with 5 % potassium bichromate and 0.5 % of the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-001) or - mix water with 0.5 % of the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-001).
R R (7) Clean the area with the cleaning solution and a lint-free cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003).
(8) Flush the area with clean water.
R (9) Dry the area with a HOT AIR BLOWER OPERATING 40 DEG C (100 DEG F).
(10) If necessary, repair corrosion damage (Ref. TASK 51-74-11-300-001).
(11) If necessary, repair the paint layers (Ref. TASK 51-75-12-300-003).
R R (12) If necessary, apply a layer of the SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-027) to the area (Ref. TASK 51-75-13-916-001).
R (13) If necessary, apply a layer of the SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. R 05-005) to the area (Ref. TASK 51-75-13-916-002).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1)
Install all the components that were removed for the cleaning task.
(2)
Remove the safety clips(s) and the tag(s) and close the circuit breaker(s) of all the electrical components and systems in the work area.
(3)
Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
