R R R (3) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the remaining paint and paint stripper. Do this in less than 30 minutes from the time that you applied the stripper.
(4) Do a visual inspection of the work area.
R (5) If the top coat of the paint system is not fully removed: - clean the surface of the work area with a BRUSH - NON METALLIC and a large quantity of water - examine the condition of the masking materials - if necessary, do the masking procedure again - do the steps (1) thru (5) again, until the top coat of the paint system is fully removed.
(6) Remove and discard the masking materials.
R R R (7) Clean the work area with a lint-free cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) and the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004), and let the surface dry.
R R R R R R (8) Inspect the areas that were masked for remaining paint stripper and damaged paint. If necessary: - remove the remaining paint stripper with a lint-free cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) and the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) - abrade the surface that was masked with the abrasive paper, grade 220 or 320 to remove the damaged paint - polish the abraded areas with a scotch-brite pad MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-011). - clean the abraded areas with a clean lint-free cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) and the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004), and let the surface dry.
(9) Make sure that the sealing beads at the skin joints are in the correct condition.
(10) If the sealing beads are damaged or have gone soft, you must do a repair of the sealing beads at the skin joints (Ref. TASK 51-76-11-300-001).
