A. Repair of Minor Damage
R (1) If necessary, remove any corrosion (Ref. TASK 51-74-11-300-001).
R (2) Measure the depth of the scratch.
R R (3) Refer to the ASRM 51-73-00 and the applicable ASRM-chapter 52 thru 57 for the permitted depth limits.
R R (4) Remove the paint from the area of the scratch with abrasive cloth grade 280 until you can see all of the scratch.
(5) Clean the repair area with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) and a lint free cloth.
(6) Remove the scratch with a rounded scotch stone and water. Move the scotch stone along the scratch until the contour is smooth and rounded.
(7) Rub the roughened area with abrasive paper grade 400. Rub along the length of the scratch until the surface is smooth.
