(1)
If necessary, remove any corrosion (Ref. TASK 51-74-11-300-001).
(2)
Measure the depth of the scratch.
R (3) Refer to the ASRM 51-73-00 and the applicable ASRM-chapter 52 thru 57 R for the permitted depth limits.
(4)
Clean the repair area with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) and a lint-free cloth.
(5)
For damage to titanium: CAUTION : USE WATER WHEN YOU GRIND TITANIUM. TITANIUM DUST IS

FLAMMABLE.
(a)
Remove the paint from the area of the damage with abrasive cloth grade 280.
(b)
Remove the scratch with a rounded scotch stone and water. Move the scotch stone along the scratch until the contour is smooth and rounded.
(c)
Rub the roughened area with abrasive cloth grade 400 and CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-002). Rub along the length of the scratch until the surface is smooth.

(d)
Clean the area with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) and a lint-free cloth.

Polish the bare metal with SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-025) and a lint-free cloth.
