-When a waypoint is entered by PBD or PB/PB and the place is unknown, the NEW WAYPOINT page is not accessed. NOT IN DATA BASE is displayed in the scratchpad.
 (e) Airports The following data can be provided for each airport in the NAV Data Base:
 -Identifier
 -
Airport reference point: LAT/LONG

 -
Airport elevation

 -Speed limit: SPD/ALT
-Alternate destination: a list of up to 6 alternates can be specified. The Alternate can be an AIRPORT, which is also defined in this file, or a company route defined in the company

route file. If the specified Alternate is a CORTE, the origin
ARPT in the CO RTE is the same as the "primary destination".
-Preferred Alternate: one of the Alternate destinations can be specified as the preferred alternate.
-Indication that the airport is true-north referenced.
 (f) Runways (Ref. Fig. 076)
1 Runways are given in the runway file associated to an airport.
_
The following data may be provided for each runway:

 -Identifier
 -Length
 -Centerline bearing
 -
Runway threshold point:LAT/LONG

 -
Runway threshold elevation

 -Threshold displacement
-Associated ILS and/or MLS (both may be defined).
2 The pilot may view these data on RUNWAY page for either data
_
 base runways or pilot-stored runways.
The RUNWAY page is accessed from DATA INDEX B page.

 a Data fields
_
-1L-Runway IDENTIFIER: the pilot must enter the runway ident into this field; he must use the ARPTNNS format where:
 *
ARPT is the ICAO airport identifier

 *
 NN are two digits 01-36

 *
 S is either a blank or an L, R or C.
The entry of an unknown ident causes the NEW RUNWAY page
to be displayed with the ident inserted in 1L.

-2L-LAT/LONG: latitude and longitude of the runway threshold point is displayed here.
-4L-LENGTH: the runway length is displayed followed by the unit (M for meters and FT for feet). This unit (M/FT) is selected by program pin.
-5L-ELV: the threshold elevation is displayed here in feet to the nearest 10 feet.
-6L-CRS: the runway course will be displayed as a 3 digit format followed by a degree symbol and a possible "T" character if true north referenced (i.e. for a few airports in the polar area). If "T" is not displayed (in most of the cases), it is magnetic north referenced.

-1R-LS IDENT: if the runway is specified with a LOC, ILS or MLS, the corresponding ident is displayed using AAAA format. If the runway is specified inside the NAV Data Base or through pilot-stored elements with both ILS and MLS facilities, the ILS ident has precedence over the MLS ident for display into this field. Likewise, the same precedence occurs for the LOC ident over the MLS ident. If none of the 3 facilities are specified with the runway, the field is blank.
3 If the pilot wants to get information about runways he defined
_ and stored, he may have access to the STORED RUNWAY page from the DATA INDEX B page. (Ref. Fig. 077)
 a Data fields
_
-Title: the right part of the title line indicates how many runways have been stored by the pilot and which one is displayed. The pilot can store up to 10 runways.
-1L, 2L, 4L, 5L, 6L, 1R: these fields are the same as on the RUNWAY page.
-5R NEW RUNWAY: allows access to the NEW RUNWAY page.
-6R-DELETE ALL and CONFIRM DELETE ALL: when this prompt is confirmed it deletes all runways previously stored by the pilot. The display changes to the NEW RUNWAY page. If any stored runway is selected for and used within any of the stored routes or within the ACTIVE, TEMPORARY or SECONDARY flight plan, or if it is a RUNWAY associated with a LOC, ILS or MLS that is being tuned, then this stored runway is not deleted, message F-PLN ELEMENT RETAINED is displayed and the display remains on the STORED RUNWAY page with 1/X displayed. If the pilot does not confirm the DELETE ALL by not selecting the CONFIRM DELETE ALL prompt, this prompt reverts to the DELETE ALL prompt as soon as any mode key or line select key (except 6R) is pressed on the MCDU on which the DELETE ALL prompt was selected.

 STORED RUNWAY Page
 Figure 077

 -
The displayed runway is deleted from the stored runways if the 1L field is cleared. If only one is stored and it is deleted, the display goes to the NEW RUNWAY page. If two or more (up to 10) are stored, the STORED RUNWAY page with the NEXT runway is displayed. If the runway being cleared is a runway in any of the Stored Routes or in the flight plan or is a runway associated with a LOC, ILS or MLS that is being tuned, do not allow the deletion and display a message (F-PLN ELEMENT RETAINED).
