 2_ Purpose
Allows the pilot to define initialization parameters to the
 system.
 3_ Data fields
 - Company route entry (1L)
The company route when entered designates all or any portion
of the primary route. It could result in the designation of
 a list of alternate destinations.
Before the newly entered data are incorporated into the
flight plan, the existing flight plan is cleared (including
the entire lateral definition waypoints and all the vertical
 defining elements).
A cost index and a CRZ FL may be defined by the primary
company route entry if they are stored with it.
 - ALTN/CO RTE (2L)
The ALTN/CO RTE can be entered in this field.
Entering only an ALTN airport into 2L or pressing LS key 2L
with this field already filled and the scratchpad empty,
changes the display to the Route Selection page to allow the
pilot to select/change the ALTN CO RTE.
Entering only an ALTN CO RTE into 2L preceding by "/", is
accepted if it is known in data base or stored routes list
and if the ALTN CO RTE origin matches the primary
destination displayed in 1R. If it is the case, then the
ALTN CO RTE destination is automatically displayed into 2L.

If the ALTN CO RTE origin does not match the primary destination, the entry is not accepted and a message (DEST AND ALTN MISMATCH) is displayed. If the pilot does not wish to enter an ALTN destination, he can enter NONE into 2L. In this case no ALTN F-PLN is strung to the primary destination.
-LAT/LONG ENTRY (4L) Upon entry of a company route or FROM/TO, the LAT/LONG of the origin airport reference point is displayed. The pilot may also enter a LAT or LONG via the scratchpad. After entry, LAT has the slew prompts adjacent to it. Pressing the LONG line select key with scratchpad empty moves the slew prompts to LONG. By pressing the vertical slew keys the LAT or LONG magnitude is incremented or decremented by 0.1 minute per key pressed or 1 minute per second if the vertical slew key is held down (regardless of N, S, E or W). This entry is used for IRS alignment.
R - COST INDEX (5L) R This value may be entered via a CO RTE entry into 1L if the R cost index is contained in the company route, the default
value may be displayed following logics defined previously, or it may be entered or changed by the pilot.
R  - CRZ FL/TEMP-CRUISE ALTITUDE-TEMPERATURE (6L) The cruise altitude may be entered via a company route entry into 1L if the CRZ FL is contained in the company route; or, it may be entered or changed manually by the pilot. The pilot cannot enter a CRZ TEMP until a CRZ FL is defined.
-FROM/TO designation (1R) The pilot may enter origin and destination airports on the INIT A page. The origin and destination must be either data base or pilot defined airports (using the defined RWY function). Upon entry of FROM/TO, the system proposes a Route Selection page to select the desired route (vertical slewing allowing access of the subsequent CO RTEs one by one). Pressing the INSERT key inserts the displayed CO RTE into flight plan; pressing the RETURN key reverts the display to INIT A without any company route selected as shown in figure item 2. (Ref. Fig. 019)
-INIT REQUEST (2R) - Reserved for ACARS function
R  - (RE)ALIGN IRS (3R) This prompt is displayed when the aircraft is on ground before takeoff and following the alignment logic. This prompt is reset when the flight phase transitions from PREFLIGHT or DONE or when no IRS is in ALIGN submode.

If the (RE)ALIGN IRS prompt is to be displayed and the INIT A page is not displayed the message ALIGN IRS is displayed in the scratchpad.
-WIND (5R) Pressing this LS key allows to access the WIND page.
-TROPO (6R) Tropopause altitude may be entered here. The tropopause altitude defaults to 36,090 feet but may be changed by the pilot.
 (b) Route Selection page Example of Route Selection pages are shown in figure: (Ref. Fig. 021)
 1_ Access
 - Enter an airport pair as FROM/TO on INIT A (or SEC INIT A)
 page (1R).
 - Enter an airport as an ALTN destination on INIT A (or SEC
 INIT A) page (2L).
 - LS key 1R on INIT A (or SEC INIT A) page with airport pair
displayed as FROM/TO and scratchpad empty.
 - LS key 2L on INIT A (or SEC INIT A) page with an airport
displayed as ALTN destination and scratchpad empty.
 - The pilot enters an OTHER ALTN airport on the ALTN (or SEC
