-Open the FMGC x circuit breaker in the cockpit (with x=1 or 2 depending on the side you want to load information)
-Select the FMGC 1 or 2 with the Data Loador Selector in the cockpit
-Put the first disk of the loadable element into the data loader
-Close the FMGC x circuit breaker
-Wait for transfer and change the disk when asked by the data loader
-When finished, . the FMGC display again the P/N STATUS of the loaded element if the loaded element if a database . the FMGC does not start again and a open/close the FMGC circuit breaker procedure is needed in order to insure a good safety level after loading.

 (c)
Crossloadable elements The FMS allows the crossload on the P/N STATUS page of the following loadable elements:

 -Performance Date Base
 -OPC file
 -Navigation Data Base
 -AMI file.

 (d)
Crossloading procedure The FMS checks the compatibility of the loadable elements before crossloading. When a compatibility problem is raised, a cross problem status is displayed with an information of what is the

problem. Crossloading process for a loadable element cannot be initiated as long as incompatibility problems are detected for this element between both sides. (No compatibility check is performed prior the loading of a loadable element except between the FG and the FM operational software).
The mechanization for the loadable element Crossload function is performed via the P/N STATUS pages.
 (4) P/N STATUS pages
 (a)
 Access

-LS key from A/C STATUS. The first P/N STATUS page is displayed when accessing this way.
-PREV PAGE or NEXT PAGE LS key from the following or the previous P/N STATUS page.
 -
Automatic display upon long term power up. The first P/N STATUS page is displayed when accessing this way.

 -
Automatic display after crossload of any database or configuration files.

 -
Automatic display on begining of crossloading on the FM receiving side.

 (b)
Purpose - allows crew to review the FMS data bases, configuration files and operational program part numbers. Also, the flight crew may crossload any loaded database or configuration files to the other FMS. There are 5 P/N STATUS pages for an airline use. A 6th one is available for flight test. A page is also dedicated to crossload all the P/N which are different between both sides.

 (c)
Data fields In the following paragraphs, the 'loadable element' stands for the operational software or the various data bases and configuration files which can be loaded independantly. In the following paragraphs, FMS1 and FMS2 will stand for:

-FMS1 is the side 1 FMS, that is the left side (or captain side) FMS.
-FMS2 is the side 2 FMS, that is the right side (or copilot side) FMS. In the following paragraphs, left side MCDU is driven by FMS1, right side MCDU is driven by FMS2. The other cases are not compatible with crossloading.
-Title - "P/N STATUS" is displayed on all P/N STATUS pages except the first one which displays a 'P/N XLOAD' title (Ref. Fig. 063)

P/N XLOAD Page when there is a difference between the both side P/N
 Figure 063

Only one loadable element P/N informations are given on a single MCDU page.
-1L-1R: Displays the loadable element name associated to the displayed P/N STATUS page on all P/N STATUS pages except the first one which does not display anything. The loadable element name is selected in the following list depending on the P/N STATUS page displayed.
 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------| P/N STATUS page n. | Loadable element name | |----------------------------|------------------------------------------------| | 1 | FMS1 UPDATE on the right side | | | FMS2 UPDATE on the left side | |----------------------------|------------------------------------------------| | 2 | FMS SOFTWARE | |----------------------------|------------------------------------------------| | 3 | NAV DATA BASE | |----------------------------|------------------------------------------------| | 4 | FM AIRLINE CONFIG (AMI) | |----------------------------|------------------------------------------------| | 5 | FM OPTIONS CONFIG (OPC) | |----------------------------|------------------------------------------------| | 6 | PERF DATA BASE | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-2L-2R/3L-3R: Display of the FMS1 and FMS2 part numbers of the considered loadable element except on page 1 for which this field is empty. Each FMS acquires the other side considered loadable element part number. Part numbers are displayed in green (respectively in amber) when they are (respectively are not) the same between FMS1 and FMS2. Sometimes, when a problem occurs, part numbers are replaced by specific messages. The messages display depends on specific logics. They are: . INCOMPLETE message (amber) when FMSx (1 or 2) P/N does not exist or an error occured in loading or crossloading. . ACCEPTING XLOAD message (amber) when considered loadable element P/N FMSx is being replaced by the FMSy P/N. . A/C ENG NOT SUPPORTED (for P/N STATUS page related to PERF DATA BASE)
