STORED WAYPOINT Page
Figure 074
-5R-NEW WAYPOINT: allows access to the NEW WAYPOINT page.
-6R-DELETE ALL and CONFIRM DELETE ALL : when this prompt is confirmed it deletes all waypoints previously stored by the pilot. The display changes to the NEW WAYPOINT page. If any of the stored waypoints are waypoints within any of the Stored Routes or within the ACTIVE, TEMPORARY or SECONDARY flight plan (limited only to the FROM and any downpath waypoint), they are not deleted, message F-PLN ELEMENT RETAINED is displayed, and the display remains on the STORED WAYPOINT page with 1/X displayed. If the pilot does not confirm the DELETE ALL by not selecting the CONFIRM DELETE ALL prompt, this prompt reverts to the DELETE ALL prompt as soon as any mode key or line select key (except 6R) is pressed on the MCDU on which the DELETE ALL prompt was selected.
-
The displayed waypoint is deleted from the stored waypoints if the 1L field is cleared. If only one is defined and it is deleted, the display goes to the NEW WAYPOINT page. If two or more are stored, the STORED WAYPOINT page with the NEXT waypoint is displayed. If the WAYPOINT being cleared is a waypoint in any of the STORED ROUTES or in the flight plan limited only to the FROM and any downpath waypoint, do not allow the deletion and display a message (F-PLN ELEMENT RETAINED).
-
The STORED waypoint pages are closed loop and can be slewed horizontally by the right or left arrow key. The first stored waypoint page follows the last stored waypoint page.
-All pilot-stored waypoints can be deleted automatically on ground. This function is activated by AMI CO RTE RETENTION software option.
4 As for navaids, when the pilot wants to define a new waypoint
_ he may have access to the NEW WAYPOINT page. (Ref. Fig. 075)
a Data fields
_
-1L-IDENT: the waypoint identifier must be entered here. The ident may be a duplicate identifier.
-2L-LAT/LONG: if the waypoint is defined as a LAT/LONG, the LAT/LONG must be entered here.
-3L-PLACE/BRG/DIST: if the waypoint is defined as a PLACE/BRG/DIST, the PBD must be entered here. The BRG is a 3 digit format followed by a degree symbol and an optional "T" character depending upon true or magnetic north reference as specified by the pilot.

If the pilot does not specify this reference, the entered value is interpreted in the context of the current NORTH REF pushbutton switch setting. The DIST is a 3 digit format plus one decimal digit.
-4L-PLACE-BRG/PLACE-BRG: if the waypoint is defined as a PLACE-BRG/PLACE-BRG, the PB/PB must be entered here.
-5R-RETURN: this prompt allows the display to return to the page where the NEW WAYPOINT page was called from.
-6R-STORE: this prompt is displayed when the ident field and 2L or 3L or 4L has been entered. This LS key must be pressed to enter the waypoint into the data base. Upon insertion, the page changes to the last one displayed:
*
STORED WAYPOINT page with the newly entered waypoint displayed, or
*
any page where a waypoint entry is possible. If the page is left without STORE being pressed, then the waypoint data are deleted. If there are already 20 waypoints stored, one must be automatically deleted to make room for the one being entered. The first one stored (1/20) is deleted (if not a waypoint in the ACTIVE, TEMPORARY or SECONDARY flight plan, limited only to the FROM and any downpath waypoints) and the remaining stored waypoints are moved up (2/20 becomes 1/20, etc). The newly entered waypoint becomes 20/20. If 1/20 was a waypoint in the flight plan, try deleting 2/20, etc. If all stored waypoints are waypoints in the flight plan, do not allow the insertion and display a message (LIST OF 20 IN USE).
-If the NEW WAYPOINT page is accessed when a waypoint ident is entered and not found in the data base, the IDENT field is filled with the unknown ident.
