5, 20 : From 250 kt in level flight increase speed to 300 kt
- demonstrate short term stability with auto trim (hands off)
- demonstrate use of speed trend arrow
Reduce to 250 kt by setting pitch at 5 deg up
- same demo, stabilize at 250 kt
Demonstrate stability in roll.
Turn using 25 deg bank : release the stick.
Reduce speed to green dot : emphasize turn coordination, no need for rudder.
Do not spend too much time as it will be reviewed in the FFS. This is a demo of how to
handle the Fly By Wire aircraft.
6 : Demonstrate auto thrust engagement / disengagement logic and N1 rated limits.
Demonstrate how to increase thrust if necessary with A/THR engaged by moving the
thrust levers forward of climb detent.
11, 25 : With FD’s off and FPV on.
Demonstrate the relationship between attitude and flight path angle.
Demonstrate the effect of varying crosswind with respect to heading and track.
12, 26 : Normal ILS - FD ON / ATHR ON / AP ON / 0 wind (stabilized approach)
Interception G/S at 3000 ft for following demo :
1. At 2000 ft freeze position and altitude.
2. FD off FPV ON - observe FPV at -3 deg and centered in the middle of PFD.
3. Change wind : 100 / 15 kt. Point out new heading to maintain localizer and observe
FPV is offset.
4. Change wind : 190 / 15 kt. Same demonstration.
5. Review technique for raw data ILS corrections and release to continue raw data
approach.
15, 29 : Practice use of FPD by selecting TRACK and ALT changes with and without AP.
Then select AP ON for LOC approach.
16, 30 : Instructor fails G/S.
