provide crews with opportunities to enhance their understanding of the A320 and to applys
Crew Resource Management principles to simulated regular airline flights.
Scenarios are intended to produce a busy environment, but should never overload the crew.
In many cases, there is no single ’right’ answer but, using their skills and knowledge, the
crew should be able to reach a successful conclusion to each scenario. Alternative solutions
may provide useful, constructive post-flight discussion.
Relative simple failures are introduced during the flights to enable the session objectives to
be met.
To make LOFT/LOE as valuable and realistic as possible, flight documentation is provided by
the instructor at briefing. The flight briefing will begin 45 minutes before the scheduled
simulator start time and will take 15-20 minutes. Thereafter the crew will have some time to
study the documentation and, for example, decide on the required fuel load, etc.
The take-off time for the flight is considered to be 30 minutes after the simulator session
starts.
