AUTOPILOT
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL (Figure 1)
The autopilot system is designed to optimize passenger and pilot comfort. It enables to control the aircraft in the pitch and roll axes.
The autopilot system includes the components which control the flight controls or indicate to the pilot the actions to be carried out to maintain the selected attitude, direction or altitude.
The autopilot system includes an electric pitch trim which functions automatically when the autopilot is operating and manually when the autopilot is disengaged.
The system consists of :
- the A82 flight computer,
- the B36 roll servo actuator,
- the B35 pitch servo actuator,
- the B38 pitch trim servo actuator,
- the control pushbuttons and switches of the pilot's control wheel,
- the S145 GO-AROUND pushbutton (if installed),
- the S11 "AP/MASTER" switch,
- the A86 configuration module,
- the J92 data loader jack,
- the LS10 buzzer,
- the "TRIM FAIL" warning annunciation of the M6 advisory panel.
The autopilot system also uses :
- the M76 encoding altimeter - refer to 34-11-00,
- the M30 flight director indicator (KI258 or KI256) or horizon - refer to 34-24-00,
- the heading reference system (slaved directional gyro and HSI) - refer to 34-21-00,
- the VOR/ILS radionavigation installation - refer to 34-51-00,
- the GPS radionavigation system (if installed) - refer to 34-57-00,
- the MARKER system - refer to 34-31-00,
- the A50 audio control panel - refer to 23-11-00.
The system is electrically supplied by "BUS 1" and "BUS 2" bars.
