3. DESCRIPTION
A. A82 flight computer
A82 flight computer consists of an electronic box enclosing the processing circuits and the two modules storing the values determined upon system certification. These replaceable modules are installed on the top and bottom boards.
A82 flight computer receives data from the following components :
— attitude director indicator (roll attitude data),
— heading reference system (selected course and heading data),
— radionavigation system (VOR, LOC and MKR data).
A82 flight computer processes these data and generates command signals which are sent to the roll servo—actuator when the autopilot mode is engaged.
A82 flight computer also ensures system monitoring and disables autopilot engagement when the pre—flight test has not been successfully completed.
When the autopilot is disengaged for whatever reason, it sends a signal to the autopilot sonalert and flashes "AP" annunciation.
A82 flight computer is electrically supplied by BJ6 bus bar.
A82 flight computer is mounted on the radio rack.

AUTOPILOT
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL (Figure 1)
The optional autopilot allows the control with regard to roll axis. It is equipped with an electric pitch trim which can be manually operated by the pilot when the autopilot is not engaged.
The autopilot consists of :
— an A82 flight computer,
— a B36 roll servo—actuator,
— a B38 pitch trim servo—actuator,
— control push—buttons,
— an AUTOPILOT MASTER switch,
— a warning buzzer (autopilot sonalert).
The autopilot system also uses information from :
— the attitude director indicator (ADI 1) — refer to 34-24-00,
— the heading reference system — refer to 34-21-00,
The information comes from either a directional gyro indicator (KG 107) or from an optional compass system (KCS 55A).
— the marker system — refer to 34-31-00,
