G. Procedure

CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE GIRT BAR. DAMAGE TO THE LEAF SPRINGS CAN EASILY OCCUR.
(1)
Carefully install the girt bar (1) into the girt while you remove the dummy girt bar.

If it is necessary, remove the tape from the leaf springs and the girt bar.

Install the loop which is on the end of the static line around the end of the girt bar (1).

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE LENGTH OF THE STATIC LINE BETWEEN THE PACK
_______ AND THE GIRT BAR IS THE MINIMUM LENGTH NECESSARY. TOO MUCH STATIC LINE WILL CATCH ON THE GIRT BAR. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ARM THE DOOR.

Put the extra length of the static line into its stowage pocket.

Fold the flap around the static line and attach the velcro.

Attach the retainer plate (4) to the girt bar (1) with the screws (3).

Fold the cover flap around the girt bar and attach the velcro.

Install the escape slide (2) (Ref 25-66-01). Do not remove the safety pin from the inflation cylinder regulator. Do not install the cover for the escape slide (2).

Do a check of the girt bar (1) for the correct operation.

Remove the safety pin from the inflation cylinder regulator.

Put the safety pin into the stowage pouch on the escape slide (2).
