A. Preparation for Installation of Sealing System CAUTION : USE 2 WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS.
_______ ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION AND ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.
NOTE : Place a suitable container under the TGB to catch residual fluid
____
draining from tubes and control.
(1) Preparation of AGB
(a) Drain AGB (Ref. TASK 12-13-79-610-004)
(b) Disconnect J10 electrical wiring harness connector from control alternator (Ref. Fig. 533/TASK 71-00-00-991-362)
(c) Remove ignition cables from clips located on RH side of TGB and from the two adjacent clips sets on fan frame.
(d) Remove bolt securing TGB RH forward bracket to forward upper RH corner of TGB housing (Ref. Fig. 534/TASK 71-00-00-991-363)
(e) Disconnect TGB scavenge tube from AGB housing and retain gasket (Ref. Fig. 535/TASK 71-00-00-991-364)
(f) Remove bolt and nut securing TGB oil supply tube and rear sump scavenge tube to bracket located on LH side of AGB/TGB connection.
(g) Disconnect rear sump scavenge oil tube from AGB housing and retain gasket.
(2) Remove handcranking drive cover as follows (Ref. Fig. 536/TASK 71-00-00-991-365, 537/TASK 71-00-00-991-371)
NOTE : The new handcranking cover (SB CFMI 72-156) must stay attached

to AGB during operation.
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and washers securing cover on AGB forward face.

(b) Remove cover using PULLER (856A2632G01) as follows: 1 Screw puller adapter into tapped hole on cover.

2 Remove cover. Use a slide hammer if necessary.
_
(c) Remove puller from cover. Remove and discard the 2 O-rings (30).
(3) Remove handcranking drive nut as follows (Ref. Fig. 538/TASK 71-00-00-991-366, 539/TASK 71-00-00-991-367)
(a) Install TOOL SET, R/I - DRIVE SHAFTS (856A2718) as follows (Ref. Fig. 539/TASK 71-00-00-991-367)
1 Position wrench guide on AGB housing and secure using the 2

bolts provided.
2 Turn wrench axle to engage forward square end of axle into
_
handcranking drive.
(b) Loosen nut using axle for countertorque.
(c) Remove tool and nut from AGB housing.
(4) Remove handcranking drive
(Ref. Fig. 540/TASK 71-00-00-991-368)
(a) Screw puller, (856A2632G01), into tapped hole of handcranking drive.
(b) Screw a slide hammer assy into the puller.
(c) Extract handcranking drive using slide hammer assy.
(d) Remove slide hammer assy from puller.
(e) Remove puller from handcranking drive.
(f) Remove and discard O-ring (20) from handcranking drive (Ref. Fig. 538/TASK 71-00-00-991-366)

(5) Backoff of the horizontal drive shaft
(Ref. Fig. 541/TASK 71-00-00-991-369)
(a) Use the puller part of tool, (856A2718), as follows: 1 Introduce guide pins of puller into the internal splines of
_
the gearshaft.
2 Handtighten the tool screw into the shaft.
_
(b) Screw a slide hammer assy into the puller.
(c) Back off the horizontal drive shaft.
(d) Remove slide hammer assy and puller from the shaft. Subtask 71-00-00-480-051
B. Installation of TOOL SET, LEAK TEST - AGB (856A2707)
(Ref. Fig. 542/TASK 71-00-00-991-370)
(1) Disconnect TGB oil supply tube from nipple on TGB
(Ref. Fig. 534/TASK 71-00-00-991-363)
(2) Seal TGB oil supply tube using tube cap detail of leak test tool set.
(3) Install AGB/TGB coupling tube blanking plate as follows:
(a) Lightly coat O-ring with engine oil (Material No. CP2442) and install in groove of blanking plate detail of tool.
(b) Remove nuts and washers securing AGB to TGB, retain lower bracket (Ref. Fig. 535/TASK 71-00-00-991-364)
