A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

A. Removal of the Aerodynamic Strake from the Fan Cowl Door NOTE : Removal of the aerodynamic strake from the right or left fan cowl

(1) Remove the bolts (5), the washers (20), and the nuts (25) that attach the aerodynamic strake (10) and the back plate (15) to the fan cowl door.

(2) Remove the aerodynamic strake (10) and the back plate (15) from the fan cowl door.

R B. If the strake will not be installed again on the door, seal the strake R fastener holes, as follows:
R (1) Use the DC1200 primer.
R WARNING : DO NOT GET THE DC1200 PRIMER ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES.
_______ R PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, GOGGLES AND A FACE MASK. USE R THE PRIMER IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA. IF YOU GET THE PRIMER R ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES, WIPE IT AWAY. GET MEDICAL AID R IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
R (a) Use a brush to apply primer 1200 (Material No. CP2244) on the R strake fastener holes. Apply the primer at least 0.25 in. (6.3499 R mm) more than hole sealant area.
R (2) Permit the primer to dry for a mininmum of 30 minutes.
R (3) Use the sealant.
R WARNING : BEFORE THE USE OF SOLVENT, PROTECTIVE FILM OR SEALANT
_______ R CAREFULLY READ THE APPLICABLE "MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET" R AND FOLLOW ALL LISTED SAFETY AND HEALTH PRECAUTIONS. R USE THESE PRODUCTS IN AN AREA OPENED TO THE AIR AND WEAR R PROTECTION GLOVES. THESE PRODUCTS ARE FLAMMABLE AND VAPOR R IS DANGEROUS. THEY MAY CAUSE IRRITATION OF EYES, NOSE, R THROAT AND SKIN. HIGH CONCENTRATIONS MAY CAUSE WEAKNESS, R HEADACHE, NAUSEA, DIZZINESS AND IMPAIRED JUDGEMENT.
R (a) Mix the sealant DC93-006 (Material No. CP2497), refer to the R manufacturer's instructions.
R (4) Seal the strake fastener holes with the sealant DC93-006 (Material R No. CP2497). The sealant should made a continuous surface on the two R sides of the fan cowl.
R (5) Use a clean cloth to remove any unwanted sealant.
