A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.

(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(4) Make sure that the slats are retracted and install TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) on the flap and slat control lever.

CAUTION : BEFORE OPENING THE THRUST REVERSER DOORS TO THE 45 DEGREES
_______ POSITION MAKE SURE THAT THE SLATS ARE RETRACTED. IF NOT THE SLATS CAN TOUCH THE INBOARD THRUST REVERSER DOOR.
(1) Open the thrust reverser doors to the 45 degrees position (Ref. TASK 78-36-00-010-040): FOR 1000EM1 451AL, 452AR FOR 1000EM2 461AL, 462AR
(2) Put a access platform in position at the engine level.

E. Install the RODS - FWD ENG MOUNT (98D71203003000). R (Ref. Fig. 404/TASK 71-21-11-991-303)
(1) Install the link bar in the stop cowl tube.
(2) Install fittings (10) on link bar and tighten with the knurled nuts (15).
(3) Attach the rods (20) to the fittings (10) with the rigging pins.
(4) Position the fittings (30) on the fan casing frame. The location of the fittings (30) is determined by the recesses on the fittings (30). Attach the fittings (30) with the three screws.
(5) Adjust length of the rods (20) and attach them to the fittings (30) with the rigging pins.

A. Removal of the Forward Engine Mount Links
(1) Remove the forward engine mount links from the engine brackets. NOTE : Removal of the hardware that attach the forward engine mount
____ links to the engine brackets is the same at both locations.
(a) Remove the bolt (5), the washers (10), (65), and the nut (60) that attach the retainers (15) and (70) to the link (30).
(b) Remove the retainer (15) from the link.
(c) Remove the bolt (20), the washer (25) that attach the forward engine mount link to the engine bracket (55).
(d) Disengage the link from the engine bracket (55).
(e) Remove the nut (50) from the engine bracket (55).
(f) Remove the retainer (70) from the link (30).
