A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.

R (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
R (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) R pushbutton switch is off.
R (b) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC R 1(2).

R (1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. TASK 71-13-00-010-040) R FOR 1000EM1 R 437AL, 438AR R FOR 1000EM2 R 447AL, 448AR

R A. Do a visual inspection of the Right Hand Fan Cowl Locking Device Keeper R Assembly as follows:
R (1) Visual Inspection of the Right Hand Fan Cowl Locking Device Keeper R Assembly
R NOTE : You should use a flashlight and an inspection mirror to
____ R examine areas of the fan cowl locking device keeper assembly R that are hard to see.
R (a) Examine the locking device keeper assembly for cracks. If any R cracks are found, replace the locking device keeper assembly R (Ref. TASK 71-13-13-000-041) and (Ref. TASK 71-13-13-400-041).
R (b) Examine the locking device keeper assembly eyebolts for nicks, R scratches, gouges, or excessive wear. If damage or wear is more R than 0.01 in. (0.25 mm) in depth, replace the locking device R keeper assembly (Ref. TASK 71-13-13-000-041) and (Ref. TASK 71-R 13-13-400-041).

R (c) Make sure that the locking device keeper assembly is attached R correctly. Tighten or replace the attachment hardware, as R necessary (Ref. TASK 71-13-13-000-041) and (Ref. TASK 71-13-13-R 400-041).
R (d) Inspect the three locking device keeper assemblies, make sure R that the anti-rotation device (key) is not broken and that the R eyebolt does not rotate.
R CAUTION : THE LOCKING DEVICE KEEPER ASSEMBLY ANTI-ROTATION KEY
_______ R CAN BE EASILY BROKEN WITH LOW TORQUE. THEREFORE DO NOT R DRIVE THE EYEBOLT WITH A TOOL TO VERIFY THE INTEGRITY R OF THE ANTI- ROTATION KEY. HAND FORCE IS SUFFICIENT.
R NOTE : With a broken locking device keeper assembly anti-rotation
____ R key, the latch tension can change at each fan cowl opening R / closing. This could lead to a zero latch tension but R also to a reduced latch hook engagement in the eyebolt.

R (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other R items.
R (2) Close the fan cowl doors: (Ref. TASK 71-13-00-410-040) R FOR 1000EM1 R 437AL, 438AR R FOR 1000EM2 R 447AL, 448AR
R (3) Remove the access platform(s).
R (4) Remove the warning notice(s).
