(2) TORQUE the nut to between 100 and 140 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.58 m.daN).
(3) Push up the lock release sleeve (55) to engage the end of hold-open rod (50) in the retention bracket (60).
(4) Lower the fan cowl door and remove the fan cowl sling (5).
(5) Remove the universal attach pads (15) from the hoist points on the fan cowl door (10).
(6) Install the filler plugs in the fan cowl door.

(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.

A. Removal of the Fan Cowl Door Latches
(1) Remove the cotter pin (20) from the nut (25). Discard the cotter pin (20).
(2) Remove the bolt (5), the bushings (10), (35), the washer (30), and the nut (25).
(3) Remove the latch (40) from the latch housing (15).
(4) Remove the clevis (65) from the housing unit (45).
(5) Remove the screws (70), the washers (55) and the nuts (50) that attach the housing (60) from the keeper housing (45).
(6) Remove the housing (60) from the keeper housing (45).
