CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT THE HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR PRESSURE IS IN THE
_______ CORRECT OPERATION RANGE BEFORE YOU START THE ENGINE. THE HYDRAULIC FLUID IS NECESSARY TO LUBRICATE THE HYDRAULIC PUMPS THAT THE ENGINE OPERATES.
(1) Supply the aircraft pneumatic system from a HP ground power unit or the APU (Ref. TASK 36-12-00-860-001) or (Ref. TASK 36-12-00-860-002). Make sure that the pressure of the air supply is between 25 psi (1.7 bar) and 55 psi (3.8 bar).
(2) Make sure that the pressure of the Green reservoir for the engine 1 (Yellow reservoir for the engine 2) is correct.
(3) Make sure that the engine 1(2) pump is serviceable (on the HYD/FUEL panel 40VU, the OFF legend of the ENG 1(2) PUMP pushbutton switch must be off).
(4) Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-001).

4. Procedure

Subtask 71-00-00-710-071
A. Do this test:
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT THE ENG/MASTER 1(2) CONTROL SWITCH (ON THE PANEL
_______ 115VU) IS SET TO OFF BEFORE YOU START THE FUEL PUMPS.
CAUTION : DO NOT OPERATE THE ENGINE IF THE FUEL INLET PRESSURE IS NOT
_______ POSITIVE (THE FUEL IS NECESSARY TO LUBRICATE THE ENGINE FUEL PUMP AND THE HMU AND THUS PREVENT DAMAGE).

1. Supply the engine with fuel.
R NOTE : If the fuel line or fuel equipment has been disconnected/removed
____ R dowstream of the LP valve before the FADEC test with engine motoring, R start the fuel pumps and open the LP valve.
A. On the HYD/FUEL panel 40VU: - The OFF legends of these pushbutton
- Push all the FUEL/PUMPS switches go off.

B. Open the circuit breaker - On the upper ECAM display unit this

2. Make sure that the throttle control lever of the engine 1(2) is in the idle stop position (zero on the graduated sector).
3. On the ENG panel 115VU:
- Set the On the lower ECAM display unit: ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN/START - The ENGINE page comes into view.

4. On the overhead CTL & IND panel 22VU:
- Push the ENG/MAN START/1(2) pushbutton switch.
5. Motor the engine as long as it is necessary (to do this obey the starter limits: 120 seconds).
6. Make sure that:
- The engine operates.
- The oil pressure indication is positive.
- Make sure that the available air pressure is between 25 psi (1.7 bar) and 55 psi (3.8 bar).
