 - If necessary, fill the oil tank (Ref. TASK 12-13-79-610-002) or (Ref. TASK 12-13-79-610-002).

 On the lower ECAM display unit, on the ENGINE page:

 - The symbol for the starter valve is in the open position.


 NOTE : During cold weather, large oil pressure surges can occur.

 NOTE : A pressure relief valve in the lubrication unit limits the oil

____ pressure to 305 psi (21 bar).
 NOTE : The oil level in the oil tank can go down by 1.6 USgal (6 l) during
____ start.
 NOTE : If a starter air pressure is used that is less than the recommended
____ quantity, slow N2 acceleration and subsequent rpm stop can occur.
 NOTE : Make sure that you do not go over the starter limits that follow:

 - no engagement of the starter when the core speed is above 20 percent.

- the acceptable duty cycles can be performed by using one the three following procedures:

 - 4 consecutive cycles, each of 2 minutes duration with a 20 second rest between 2 consecutive attempts. After 4 cycles, wait 15 minutes to allow starter to cool before you try a new start or motoring. - one 5 minute cycle followed by a cooling period of 2 minutes after the first motoring and a 10 minutes interval between the following ones. - one 15 minute cycle followed by a 15 minute cooling period before you try a new start or motoring. It is recommended to use the 15 minute cycle only for cooling the engine to do a borescope inspection.


 NOTE : While the engine is motored, do a visual check for leaks at the fuel
____
 and oil system tubes and manifolds.

 7. On the overhead CTL & IND panel 22VU:
- Release the ENG/MAN START/1(2) pushbutton switch.
 8. On the ENG panel 115VU:
- Set the ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN/START selector switch to NORM.
 9. On the ECAM control panel:
- Get the ENGINE page.
10. On the lower ECAM display unit, on the ENGINE page:
- After a minimum of 5 minutes after the end of the test, look at the oil level indication.
- The ON legend of this pushbuttonswitch goes off.

 On the lower ECAM display unit, on the ENGINE page:

 - The symbol for the starter valve is in the closed position.

On the lower ECAM display unit:

- The ENGINE page goes out of view.

On the lower ECAM display unit:

- The ENGINE page comes into view.


If necessary, fill the oil tank(Ref. TASK 12-13-79-610-002) or(Ref. TASK 12-13-79-610-002).

11. After engine shutdown, when the  - The OFF legends of these pushbutton rotor movement stops, on the switches come on. HYD/FUEL panel 40VU:
 - Release all the FUEL/PUMPS
 pushbutton switches.

 12. Close the circuit breaker On the upper ECAM display unit:
 1KC1(2) to close the LP valve.  - The ENG 1(2) LP VALVE OPEN message goes out of view.
 The master CAUT light goes off.

 (1) Make a check of the engine, fan frame and turbine for unusual roughness.

 (2) Make an inspection of the lubrication system lines, fittings and accessories for leaks (Ref. TASK 79-00-00-210-003).
