D. Procedure
(1) Prepare adapter plug tension bolts and associated hardware for installation.
(a)
Inspect the 14 tension bolts for damage and replace if required.
(b)
Verify grip lengths for the 14 tension bolts and correlate bolt sizes to bolt installation locations
(c)
Apply a thin coat of BMS3-27 corrosion inhibiting compound to each of the 14 tension bolts, nuts and barrel nuts, and faying surfaces between fastening hardware.
(d)
Verify that each barrel nut is in line with fastener hole.

(2) Hold the adapter plug and winglet assembly close to the outboard end of the wing using sling HSE757-0010 and install the ground strap. Attach hardware per BAC 5117.
(3) Position adapter plug against outboard end of wing and install tension hardware with the following sequence of steps: Special Precaution: Parts are location sensitive. Therefore, it may be necessary to note size, orientation and position of each washer as indicated on the Engineering drawing for reassembly applications. See AP57.2-0600 Part II 57-31-01 Figure 404.
(a)
Install the first 10 tension in numbered order until seated.
(b)
Install the first next 4 tension bolts in numbered order until seated.
(c)
Check for gaps along OML periphery. Maximum allowable gap is .060 inch except at drain hole locations.
(d)
Apply final torque to the first 10 bolts in numbered order.
(e)
Apply final torque to the remaining 4 bolts in numbered order.

7/16 Dia. At locations with barrel nuts Torque bolt heads to: 410 – 510 in-lb
7/16 Dia. At locations without barrel nuts Torque nuts (not bolt heads) to: 450 – 550 in-lb
1/2 Dia. At locations with barrel nuts Torque bolt heads to: 685 – 785 in-lb
1/2 Dia. At locations without barrel nuts Torque nuts (not bolt heads) to: 730 – 830 in-lb

Remove the sling, HSE757-0010 from the winglet. Re-install the BACB30VF bolts using MIL-C-11796, class 3 corrosion preventive compound applied to all areas of the hole and immediately install the bolts.
(5)
Connect the two Winglet wiring harness connectors in the LE section of the outboard end of the wing. Access from under wing through access panel opening. See AP57.2-0600 Part II 57-31-01 Figure 402.

Perform Steady Position light functional test per supplement AP57.2-0600 Part II 33-43-00, page 501.

Perform Strobe Position light functional test per supplement AP57.2-0600 Part II 33-44-00, page 501.

Attach the wing LE to the adapter plug edge at WBL 740.00, by installing 23 BACR15GF6D( ) rivets. See AP57.2-0600 Part II 57-31-01 Figure 403.
