D. Procedure
(1)
Remove access panels. See AP57.2-0600 Part II 57-31-01 Figure 401.
(a)
Remove access panel and associated hardware from the inspar area of the adapter plug.
(b)
Remove lower access panel and associated hardware from the inspar area of the wing just inboard of WBL 740.00.
(c)
Remove access panel and associated hardware from the LE area of the wing just inboard of WBL 740.00.
(2)
Disconnect the two winglet wiring harness electrical connectors in the leading edge area. Access from under wing through access panel opening. See AP57.2-0600 Part II 57-31-01 Figure 402.
(3)
Remove the 23 rivets holding the leading edge panel to the edge of the adapter plug at WBL 740.00. See AP57.2-0600 Part II 57-31-01 Figure 403.

(4) Install the sling, HSE757-0010 onto the winglet See AP57.2-0600 Part II 57-31-00 Figure
402. To avoid damaging the winglet, use all three sets of hoist points. Remove 3 sets of two GSE BACB30VF bolts from the nutplate locations shown. Use the hoist fittings per HSE757-0010.
NOTE: The adapter plug and winglet assembly weighs approximately 296 lbs.
NOTE: Only the HSE757-0010 sling may be used due to the combined weight of the winglet and adaptor plug. Use of any other model sling may result in sling failure creating a safety hazard.
(5)
Support the adapter plug and winglet assembly weight using the sling. Remove the 14 tension bolts in the mid spar area holding the adapter plug to the wing structure at WBL
740.00. Label the tension bolts and washers as they are removed for replacement to the same locations. See AP57.2-0600 Part II 57-31-01 Figure 404.
(6)
Pull the adapter plug and winglet assembly away from the wing just far enough to disconnect one end of the ground strap located in the TE area at WBL 740.00.
(7)
Remove the adapter plug and winglet assembly from the airplane with the sling.
3. Install the Adapter Plug and Winglet Assembly.
