B. Procedure
(1) Install Ballast. See Figure 402.
Note: Existing fay surface sealant common to nose beam, 757-5240, forward ballast, and aft ballast should be removed and surfaces cleaned per SRM 51-20-05 prior to reinstallation.
(a)
Apply BMS5-95 fay surface sealant per BAC5000 to nose beam forward and aft mating surfaces, 757-5240, common to forward and aft ballast.
(b)
Apply BMS3-27 corrosion inhibiting compound to bolts and fastener holes in ballast prior to bolt installation.
(c)
Position forward ballast onto nose beam, 757-5240.
(d)
Position aft ballast onto nose beam, 757-5240.
Note: Upper and lower ballast fastener grip lengths differ. Ensure correct fastener length prior to installation.
(d)
Install the upper bolts and lower bolts, with the aft washers. Place the forward washers, and nuts per the orientation shown in figure 402. Torque nuts 369 to 451 inch-lbs.
(2) Install Leading Edge Skin. See Figure 401.
(a)
Place leading edge skin onto leading edge structure.
Caution: Care should be taken when installing the leading edge skin [1] so as to prevent damage to the skin and fay surface sealant.
(b)
Install the bolts and secure the leading edge skin, paying special attention to the differing grip lengths.

WINGLET – REMOVAL/INSTALLATION/INSPECTION
1. General
A. This procedure contains three tasks.
(1)
The first task gives instructions to remove the right or left winglet.
(2)
The second task gives instructions to install the right or left winglet.
(3)
The third task gives instructions for internal inspection of winglet structure while on or off of the airplane.
